January can be such a “blah” month. However I must say that one of the highlights for me is celebrating my baby girl’s birthday, (she will be eight years young this year!) We just celebrated Christmas and my daughter knows that sometimes she can’t get everything she wants because we just spent a good bit of money at Christmas. However just prior to Christmas my wife and I researched beginner guitars as we knew that our daughter would love to learn to play guitar. After a long search, (we wanted to find a good quality guitar that was in our price range), we found a beginner childrens guitar that we believe she will love! We’ll know for sure on January 27th.
About six years ago we bought a kids drumset for our oldest son and it was quite a hit! He plays drums in a band with three of his closest friends. We are delighted that he does in fact plan to go to college. My kids have grown up with music and as both my wife and I have performed in a band at our church. We are holding our breath but also looking forward to January 27th!
Well the holidays are over and the kids are back in school. They are not happy about this but know that it is a part of life. As a family we had a pretty nice Christmas and the kids for the most part seemed to really like their gifts. They like their new clothes and my son just LOVES his new MP3 player!
We were able to get our daughter a childrens acoustic guitar that she just LOVES beyond measure. My wife and I did a pretty exhaustive search for childrens acoustic guitars and finally agreed on one we felt was perfect for our daughter just in time for Christmas! We are totally amazed at how much progress she has made in a short period of time. We had purchased some books and DVD’s on learn to play guitar and she got through most of them in less than one week! My daughter is more motivated than ever to get her homework and chores completed so she can play on her guitar and I must say that that has been an unexpected benefit!
As a mom I can honestly say that I am very content. The holiday season is over but the memories linger and will remain dear in my heart! Overall we had a really nice Christmas and a peaceful new year! My only wish is that the season would not be such a “rushed” time so more of it could be spent enjoying the magic of the season. I TRULY loved experiencing the joy my family felt as they really seemed to love their gifts. In particular, I really liked watching my daughter go “crazy” over the beginner childrens guitar we gave her for Christmas. To say she loves this gift would be an understatement!
My husband and I really enjoyed looking at various beginner childrens guitars and now know that our research has really paid off. She seems to already have learned some chords from her learn to play guitar DVD. Our son has been listening to his new Ipod nonstop and that makes me happy. As long as they can get back to school and keep up with their studies, I’ll be able to relax. Best wishes for an awesome 2010!
Well the Christmas rush is now over and we can begin to relax a little more. I feel that overall it was a success and my husband and I did a good job selecting gifts that our children seem to really like. Our musically gifted son had asked for an acoustic guitar this Christmas and we weren’t sure at first because he already plays the cello but we figured that if he would practice the guitar the way he practices the cello, buying a childrens acoustic guitar would be a good purchase. We really researched childrens acoustic guitars and were really pleased with what we saw!
Our son has been playing the guitar faithfully every day and has really been watching the learn to play guitar DVD’s that we bought him. Our daughter is thrilled with her new Ipod and has been pretty much dancing all over the house! Now my husband and I can relax and get ready for the new year. So now I ask, How many more days until Spring?
For the most part Christmas was a success. The kids seemed happy, my wife seemed happy and again all was well in our little humble abode. We seemed to have a lot of success this year with our middle daughter who finally got her most prized possession in life, a kids electric guitar! She is very happy about this and has already been gearing up to give a little “concert” for our friends who will be coming over to the house on New Year’s Eve!
I am happy for my daughter and we are glad because we looked at so many beginner childrens guitars before we finally found the right one and as soon as we saw the Hannah Montana guitar, we knew we had to get it for her! I guess we will have to encourage her to watch the learn to play guitar DVD’s that we bought her. As long as she doesn’t ask us to be her manager and take her on auditions, I’m fine, kids!
Christmas was so wonderful this year! We took a chance and bought our eight year old son a kids electric guitar and what a hit has been. My wife and I looked long and hard at various types of childrens electric guitars and feel so good that we seemed to find the perfect fit for him, (a 31 inch sunburst electric guitar). We know he wants to be a rocker and that is fine with us as long as he doesn’t fall behind in school.
Yesterday our son performed a nice little concert for us. My wife has now insisted that we get lessons for him and says that she will also see that he watches the learn to play guitar DVD’s that we bought him. I am thrilled at the possibility of both of us playing together one day. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and best wishes for a special 2010!

There are literally dozens of different methods that teachers employ when teaching their pupils how to play guitar, and there is not necessarily a right or wrong method. When I was learning guitar, however, I already had a background playing the piano, which made the process much easier. As a matter of fact, most music teachers suggest learning to play the piano before embarking on another musical endeavor.
The reason why the piano is good as a starting point is that it is unparalleled at training people how to read music. Due to the layout of the keys, it makes learning to read and play music easier. While some musicians claim to never read or write music, they are the exception to the rule, and a good grounding in musical notation is beneficial to any aspiring musician.
Christmas day is here and we hope we have made the right decision for our son. We know how much he enjoys guitar and so we began searching for childrens acoustic guitars. We found one that seemed perfect for our nine year old son. We also purchased some learn to play guitar DVD’s and books that seem like they would be very helpful for him.
Every year we rack our brains for the perfect gifts that we know our children will love. I think e do pretty well and I really think an childrens acoustc guitar will be a hit! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2010!
Most people who pick up a guitar dream of being a lead axmen for a band that sells out arenas around the globe. While it isn’t bad to have lofty aspirations, the truth is that it is becoming more and more competitive to make it as a lead guitarist. That doesn’t mean that the dream of being a star in a rock band has to die.
While there is an abundance of superb lead guitarists, there is a lack of the less noted, but equally important, bassist. While the bassist rarely makes it to the spotlight, musicians and true music fans know that the bass line is often the pulse of a song. Taking the time to learn bass guitar not only will improve your prospects for a musical future, but it will also give you a better appreciation for the intricacies of music.
The wonderful sound of music has always filled our home. I play the organ for the church choir and my husband plays the bassoon at various functions in our community. My oldest daughter plays the cello in her school’s orchestra. Out youngest son has just informed us that he too wants to play an instrument and just knows that we will be thrilled about this. Never in my wildest dreams did I think he would want to play electric guitar!!!! I was very unsure about this but my husband seems to think that it’s a great idea and it he wants to play so badly then he will receive proper instruction.
My husband has told me that he knows where to find some really good childrens electric guitars. He thinks he can get a really good deal on some cool guitars that our son will really love! I feel however that if he is going to get a kids electric guitar then he is going to learn proper technique (i.e. a good instructor and some learn to play guitar books and DVD’s) As long as we can live with a peaceful noise level in our home then I guess I’m game!
