Making the decision to allow your child to learn to play electric guitar can be just as fun for you as it can be for them! Part of this fun is shopping for the guitar! There is only one real difference between children’s electric guitars and electric guitars for adults and that is the size of the instrument. Your child’s age and build will determine which size children’s electric guitar you purchase for them. Children who are age seven and younger would be best suited for a ½ size guitar. Whereas children aged eight years to about eleven years are better off playing the three quarter sized guitar. In most cases once a child has reached the age of eleven they should then be able to use a full size electric guitar without any problems. It is important that you take your time when selecting the right children’s electric guitar for your child. You need to make sure that you select the right size on because if it is too big your child might find it too difficult to handle and won’t be as willing to develop their electric guitar playing skills. Kids grow fast and they seem to go through many phases and changes in their lives. I know that it’s normal for kids to wear “many different hats” if you will. My kids are no exception. We try to accommodate them as best we can but it can get expensive keeping up with all of the hobbies they decide to become involved with. As a parent you must tow the line between supporting your child’s various interests and encouraging them to stick with something and not give up!
Our young son says that he “knows” he wants to grow up to be a “rocker”. At age six you think you know what you want and my husband says “let’s just have fun with this” I have to agree and I guess our wallet will determine whether we can afford to get our son a childrens electric guitar for his birthday. My husband and I will have fun looking at different childrens electric guitars to see what is available. So far we have found some kids guitars that do look affordable so I guess we will have one happy little rocker on July 2nd!
My daughter wants to grow up and play in an all girl and one day. When I think of chick bands from my era I think of bands like the Go Go’s and how while I was growing up they always looked like they were having so much fun. Living the life of a band member can be quite a wild existence. Of course my daughter is only ten years old and may just be going through a passing “phase” in her life. I guess I need to calm down and just have fun with it!
The other day I went online for the fun of it and decided to start pricing guitars for children. Man there are some really cute kids guitars out there that are not all that expensive and seem to be of good quality. I am now more inclined to want to purchase a childrens guitar for my eager little musician. Who knows this purchase may inspire me to want to start playing the oboe again, (yeah right!)
My beloved granddaughter told me that more than anything else in the whole world she wants an electric guitar for her next birthday. When I heard this I thought this was an outrageous request but after speaking with my daughter, (her mother) she assures me that other girls my granddaughter’s age also like the guitar and some of them have gotten a kids guitars for their birthday, I would like to surprise my granddaughter and get this for her birthday next month but I haven’t a clue where to look.
My daughter said that she had already begun looking online and had a childrens electric guitar pretty much picked out. I want to take a look before making my final decision but heck if my granddaughter really wants it then I’m all for it! At her age I can’t even conceptualize wanting such a gift but again it was a different time. When it’s all said and done, only time changes people don’t!
My niece and nephew mean the world to me. My brother is a single father and I have been a bit of a surrogate mother to his two children. I couldn’t be happier as I think his kids are adorable. I see the kids quite often as they come to my house and I come to theirs. Birthdays and Christmas never go unacknowledged. If anything I have a tendency to spoil the kids and my brother sometimes has to set limits with me. My adorable little nephew will turn six in two weeks and I very much want to get him what I know he really wants, (a kids electric guitar!) My brother is very unsure about this but I told him that childrens guitars are not as expensive as he thinks and if we go in on it together it will bring the cost down.
A search online has helped convince my brother that I was right, kids guitars are not as costly as he thought. I think we may have even found the childrens guitar that we want which is good because his birthday is only two weeks away! Money and materialism cannot replace the fact the kids don’t have a mother but there is plenty of love to go around in our family!
My daughter knows how to push my buttons. I usually set limits with her but there are times when she just knows how to wrap me around her little finger. Finger wrapping occurs most around her birthday. One year she managed to talk me into getting her an entire collection of a doll set she had been wanting, let me tell you, VERY EXPENSIVE! Now she says that more than anything this year she wants an electric guitar for her eighth birthday! I’m not so sure about this one but my husband thinks it’s just great. He already looked online and found some “unbelievable deals” for kids guitars. I need to see just how “unbelievable” these deals really are.
I want more than anything to be a good parent and teach my children good values. I have to admit however that my kids do seem to be well rounded for the most part. I guess they’re only young once. Someone is going to be quite happy come June 25th because she will be rockin and rollin on her new kids electric guitar!
What father doesn’t want to spoil their little girl? I love my two sons and I have a very special relationship with both of them but a daughter is a whole other kettle of fish. My sweet little eight year old daughter is a “daddy’s girl” and she knows it! She also knows that she has me wrapped around her little finger! She has been begging me for months to get her a childrens electric guitar. She knows that her older brother plays bass guitar and that I played acoustic guitar “back in the day” and she figures that the guitar is a valued possession in our family.
My wife warns me that finances are tight since she got laid off from her job six months ago. I have always been the less thrifty one in our marriage. I have however been showing her websites that feature beginner kids guitars that are very affordable. I think I am starting to convince my wife that kids guitars are more affordable than she thought because the other day she told me she saw a beginner kids guitar she thought was really cute and our daughter would love! I am delighted because my daughter will be nine in June and I know she will have a Very Happy Birthday!
My son has been the center of my life for pretty much all of his life. Now that he is a father, I am delighting even more as a grandfather who has the sheer joy and privilege of spoiling his grandchildren. Birthdays provide the perfect reason or “excuse” to “pull out all of the stops”. My super ambitious, fun loving and very capable grandson will be all grown up at the ripe old age of eight! My grandson really wants a childrens electric guitar but my son doesn’t think we need to spend that much money for his birthday. I have told my son that I absolutely want to get my grandson a kids electric guitar.
I have begun looking in music and toy stores for childrens electric guitars. I have now finally convinced my son to also look online, (since the computer is still not really my thing). I think my sometimes “know it all son” has discovered that kids guitars are not as expensive as he thought. One day my son will understand the joy of being a grandparent. I mean you’re only eight once!
Since when does a seven year old have all the answers? My daughter often tells me how life is. Sometimes she has me in stitches and I think to myself “if only the world was as sweet as she sees it!” My daughter assures me that many girls her age play guitar and that kids guitars are everywhere! Everywhere? I don’t know about everywhere but I will begin looking for them online. It has actually been pretty fun and I have enjoyed the variety of guitars for kids that are available!
My adorable daughter will however have to wait until June to get her cool little kids guitar because I don’t buy big gifts outside of Christmas and birthdays. My kids, (much to their chagrin) are well aware of this! I love my children to death but I will not spoil them. I want them to appreciate the world without a sense of self entitlement that at times seems so rampant today. So now I look forward to my daughter’s debut! Stay Tuned!
