If your child expresses an interest in wanting to learn to the play guitar and asks for lessons chances are they will follow through and will want on their own. Age is not always the absolute deciding factor to determine a person’s interest in wanting to learn. Most children under the age of six don’t yet have the aptitude necessary to learn to play childrens guitar. Young children have the choice of kids acoustic guitars or kids electric guitars. You can spend some time with your child and call it music appreciation. Dance and play with them to music. They will develop coordination and appreciation for music, and one added benefit, they get to spend time with you. .
You might want to consider guitar lessons for your child. If you want your child to just have some fun and do something interesting, you might feel that it is worth the investment. If you are looking at seriously getting a head start on your child’s musical development getting them to learn proper technique from the start may be essential
Be patient with a beginner guitarist while she learns to read music!

Most children who begin learning to play an instrument don’t express a desire right away to learn how to play music. For the beginner guitarist, the very thrill of strumming the guitar will sustain their interest for awhile however parents will need to impart some type of order in their child’s learning experience. It’s a good idea to allow a child to learn some songs by ear but then move on to learn how to read standard music notation.
Be patient with your child and try to give her all the time she needs to become comfortable with her kids electric guitar. Kids can learn to play music with kids electric guitars and kids acoustic guitars. You might notice that the staff and the notes on a piece of standard music notation are very piano-centric. While the language of standard notation matches up perfectly with a keyboard, transcribing guitar notes is much less intuitive and harder to learn for beginners. It’s only natural for guitar players to take a bit longer to learn to read music.
Learning a musical instrument can be incredible exciting as well as very challenging, so the last thing you want to do is put unnecessary roadblocks in the way while your child is learning how to play. First and foremost you always want to make sure that the instrument fits properly. If it’s too big or too small, it will make the entire process of playing more awkward than it has to be.
That’s why it’s always best to consider child sized instruments. With guitars for instance, parents can choose from kids acoustic guitars and kids electric guitars. Here is a guide to give you a generalized idea of what size guitar to purchase for your child. If he or she is six years or younger, you’ll probably need a ¼ size guitar. From seven to eight, most kids will need a ½ size guitar and from nine to ten most kids do well with a ¾ size. If your child is eleven years or older, a full size guitar will often work well. These are, of course, guidelines. It will really depend on the size and growth of your own child
My daughter wants a guitar for her birthday no matter what! She says that if I can only get her one gift that wouldn’t be very good but if it has to ONLY one gift it MUST be an electric guitar! Woa!! In my mind, at the ripe old age of seven, how could she be so decisive and what happened to being satisfied with a Barbie doll or a new bicycle?
Do they even make electric guitars for kids? Yeah, I guess they do. Yeah, I know they do! So it’s off to the “net” I go in search of kids electric guitars! I am pretty impressed with what I see and I think I can find a little ‘gem’ for my budding ‘Rock Goddess’ I can’t expect my daughter to live the life I did at her age, these are different times. I just have to ‘roll’ and/or ‘rock and roll’ with it, after all she is a really good kid!
My daughter has been a musical enthusiast ever since the day she was born. She would bang on the side of her crib in a succinct rhythm as a toddler and then as she got older she would tap the table and make an attempt to strum a book or a magazine. Now at the age of five, we are so excited to have purchased a beginner kids guitar for our aspiring little rocker! My husband was all for it! We really had a ball looking at all the kids electric guitars available online!
Christmas is less than a week away and we are the most excited of all the gifts we’ve bought to give the guitar to our daughter! We want to support her interests and I don’t know if being a musician is in her future but we do know that we will have a lot of fun along the way!

Music has been a popular means of expression for many generations. If a child expresses the desire to learn to play an instrument then it is a good idea to encourage them whenever possible. With the guitar being one of the most popular instruments in the world today, it is wise to consider giving your child the opportunity to learn to play guitar, Parent today can choose between kids electric guitars and kids acoustic guitars for their children.
There are some really good multimedia courses offered now for guitar lessons which because of their professionalism and pedigree can deliver what they say they will. These courses can and will keep students both young and not so young invested and learning good technique. Because of the variety and the depth of content, a real learning experience with the guitar can be acquired for kids of all ages.
I have enjoyed being a father and to this day can’t help myself from giving the occasional lecture. Now that my son is a father, I am delighting even more as a grandfather who has the distinct privilege of spoiling his grandchildren. Birthdays and Christmas provide the perfect opportunity and/or excuse to “pull out all of the stops”. My super ambitious, fun loving and very capable grandson is SO excited for Christmas this year!! My grandson really wants a childrens electric guitar but my son is a little apprehensive. I have told my son that I absolutely want to get my grandson a kids electric guitar.
I have begun looking in music and toy stores for kids electric guitars. I have now finally convinced my son to also look online, (since the computer is still not really my thing). I think my son and his very lovely wife are in agreement that this could be a very fun idea. One day my son will understand the joy of being a grandparent. Being a grandfather is the highlight of my life!!
Christmas will be here before you know it. We have less time than we think to get ready. We have given thought to the idea of getting our daughter a kids electric guitar. My husband has started searching on line for kids electric guitars. We feel really excited about giving this gift as we know she REALLY wants to play guitar! My husband will play Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and we will be quite happy Christmas morning to see the look on her face when he sees what Santa has brought.
I will be glad when the rush of Christmas is over but I still love to see the joy in my kid’s faces when they receive the gifts that they really want. My son will be thrilled beyond belief if he gets the Ipad and accessories that he wanted. A kids guitar, what more could my very musical daughter ask for? Yes Santa Claus is coming to town!

My five year old wants to be a rocker in the worst way! It all started several months ago after she spent time with her aunt and uncle while I was away for a week on a business trip. My daughter just idolizes her older cousin who is currently a bass guitarist in a local band. Her uncle, my brother says that my daughter followed him around and finally Jake relented allowing his young cousin to play a few notes on his “precious” guitar while he watched, (hoping and praying that she didn’t break anything!). That did it, my daughter was sold, she HAD to have a guitar. She says that all she wants for Christmas is a new electric guitar, “Ok no problem” I told her.
As a former musician myself I understand the allure playing an instrument can have at a young age. I have played piano for years and my brother played drums and was a back up singer for many years in a very popular band in our area. Music was always a big part of our lives. I think that it would be totally cute to get my daughter a childrens electric guitar for Christmas and I will begin searching kids electric guitars today. I think I can convince my husband that this would be a good plan. I think it’s great and I know I will have a very happy daughter on my hands Christmas morning!
