Learning to play a musical instrument has many benefits. Instruments like kids electric guitars help teach children the relationship between hard work and rewards. It raises IQ’s and studies have shown that children exposed to music lessons and musical instruments are more likely to be smarter than their peers. It also helps them to read although nobody seems to be quite sure why. It gives them an outlet for stress. Being able to play a guitar can help your child learn how to work through stress even though your ear drums may pay the price!
Allowing a child to play a kids electric guitar can help the child seem ‘cool’ because electric guitars are viewed as cool and everyone wants to hang out with the ’cool’ kids at school. Learning to play guitar can help your child’s public speaking abilities as he or she gets used to performing in front of an audience. Before you rush out to buy a childrens electric guitar, it pays to shop around for the best deal. You can upgrade as he or she becomes a more accomplished player
It isn’t easy being a parent and I hate it when I hear myself talking to my kids just as my parents once spoke to me. However nothing frustrates me more than to see my kids not understanding the value of a dollar and not recognizing the importance of taking care of what they have! For instance we bought our youngest daughter a kids electric guitar for Christmas and I have found it lying around the house in a multitude of places and everywhere except where it is supposed to be. Already my wife and I have had to replace several broken guitar strings that she says happened when her little brother got into her room and played her guitar without her permission. What I can not get her to see is that if she would put her guitar in the kids guitar case that we bought her none of these accidents would happen in the first place!!
We didn’t buy the guitar case for it not to be used. And when we bought the case for her we were unaware that guitar cases for children came in different sizes and styles. It seems that our children need to learn the hard way as I did. How soon we forget that we were stubborn when we were their age. I have told my daughter that if she breaks one more string, not only will I not replace the string but I will not pay to have the guitar fixed. How’s that for being a tough parent!!
Most children who begin learning to play an instrument don’t express a desire right away to learn how to play music. For the beginner guitarist, the very thrill of strumming the guitar will sustain their interest for awhile however parents will need to impart some type of order in their child’s learning experience. It’s a good idea to allow a child to learn some songs by ear but then move on to learn how to read standard music notation.
Be patient with your child and try to give her all the time she needs to become comfortable with her kids electric guitar. Kids can learn to play music with kids electric guitars and kids acoustic guitars. You might notice that the staff and the notes on a piece of standard music notation are very piano-centric. While the language of standard notation matches up perfectly with a keyboard, transcribing guitar notes is much less intuitive and harder to learn for beginners. It’s only natural for guitar players to take a bit longer to learn to read music.
Our family had a very special Christmas this year! The greatest satisfaction my husband and I experience is watching the joy our children experience on Christmas morning. This year we took a chance and bought our eight year old son a kids electric guitar and what a hit has been. My husband and I looked long and hard at various types of beginner childrens guitars and feel so good that we seemed to find the perfect fit for him, (a ¾ Size AXL guitar). We know he wants to be a rocker when he grows up and that is fine with us as long as he doesn’t fall behind in school or not become involved in other activities.
Yesterday our son performed a nice little concert for us. My husband now insists that we get lessons for him and says that he will also see that our son watches the learn to play guitar DVD’s that we bought him. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and my very best wishes for a happy, healthy, prosperous and fun filled 2011!
Christmas will be here in less than three weeks! This year we took a chance and bought our eight year old daughter a kids electric guitar because we are pretty sure that it will be quite a big hit with her! My husband and I looked long and hard at various types of childrens electric guitars and we believe that we have found the perfect fit for her, (a 31 inch pink guitar). We know she wants to be a rocker like her uncle and that is fine with us as long as she doesn’t fall behind in school.
My husband feels that we should get lessons for her and says that she will also see that he watches the learn to play guitar DVD’s that we bought her. I am excited to see what the future will hold! I hope everyone has a nice Christmas and best wishes for a healthy and fun filled 2011!
We look forward to Christmas every year. We feel pretty fortunate in life, and for the most part our kids seem happy and well adjusted. We thank God for that and believe that our success in life is largely determined by the happiness of the family members within it. Like most kids however, we know that opening gifts on Christmas morning is one of the highlight’s of the year and this year will be no exception. Our middle daughter says that what she most wants for Christmas is a kids electric guitar! My husband and I think that this will quite fun to shop for!
We have already begun a search in earnest for beginner childrens guitars ! I am not always sure my husband and I are in agreement about what type of guitar our daughter would like We also want to buy her some learn to play guitar DVD’s for children. We look forward to the gift giving on Christmas morning but more importantly we look forward to sharing in each other’s joy! Merry Christmas!!
I have enjoyed being a father and to this day can’t help myself from giving the occasional lecture. Now that my son is a father, I am delighting even more as a grandfather who has the distinct privilege of spoiling his grandchildren. Birthdays and Christmas provide the perfect opportunity and/or excuse to “pull out all of the stops”. My super ambitious, fun loving and very capable grandson is SO excited for Christmas this year!! My grandson really wants a childrens electric guitar but my son is a little apprehensive. I have told my son that I absolutely want to get my grandson a kids electric guitar.
I have begun looking in music and toy stores for kids electric guitars. I have now finally convinced my son to also look online, (since the computer is still not really my thing). I think my son and his very lovely wife are in agreement that this could be a very fun idea. One day my son will understand the joy of being a grandparent. Being a grandfather is the highlight of my life!!
Christmas will be here before you know it. We have less time than we think to get ready. We have given thought to the idea of getting our daughter a kids electric guitar. My husband has started searching on line for kids electric guitars. We feel really excited about giving this gift as we know she REALLY wants to play guitar! My husband will play Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and we will be quite happy Christmas morning to see the look on her face when he sees what Santa has brought.
I will be glad when the rush of Christmas is over but I still love to see the joy in my kid’s faces when they receive the gifts that they really want. My son will be thrilled beyond belief if he gets the Ipad and accessories that he wanted. A kids guitar, what more could my very musical daughter ask for? Yes Santa Claus is coming to town!
Giving up the guitar has always been one of my biggest regrets in life. I started playing the instrument in junior high school and kept going right up through college, when life got in the way. My first job out of college was so demanding that I had to budget my free time very carefully. In order to spend time with my fiancée, the guitar-playing habit had to go. Fortunately, I have the chance to reconnect with my precious guitar vicariously through my son.
He just turned 11 and has been clamoring for an electric guitar for several months now. With Christmas right around the corner, there is no question about what present to get him; all I have to do is look at guitars for children suitable for a beginner. After mulling over the advantages of electric vs. acoustic models, I have decided to get him a kids electric guitar. Most of his favorite bands play electric, so I believe he will be more motivated if he can emulate his heroes, I look forward to his reaction on Christmas day!!
When my husband gets excited about something he pulls all out all the stops and its no holds barred! He recently told me that after having a heart to heart talk with our young and curious son about what he wants most for Christmas, our son said an electric guitar is a must. After a thoughtful but most enthusiastic pause, my eager to please husband said that Santa would have a kids guitar on his sleigh without a doubt! My husband went to work immediately to find the best and fanciest kids electric guitar in town and online! The ever practical part of me said “Wait a minute buster!” And so I began my search for discount kids guitars! The results actually looked pretty promising.
We have a lot of planning and budgeting to do to get ready for Christmas this year and a childrens electric guitar may in fact fit the budget! I am all for supporting my children as long as we live within our means. My husband and I will probably continue to battle over finances but I am glad that in time we are usually able to work things out! Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!!
