I have been doing an extensive search for cheap electric guitars. You see my son who just began playing in a local band with his friends needs a new guitar. He knows what he wants and we are trying to find it for him but it has to be in our price range. We try to support our kids but we can’t always get everything they want. We need to teach them the value of money as well as the fact that they need to work hard for it.
Our son has had a love of guitars before he could even say the word “guitar”. As a toddler we bought him a toy guitar. When he reached the age of eight, we bought him a kids electric guitar for his birthday and believe me we more than got what we paid for, he practically wore the thing out!! We are happy to support him as he is a pretty good student and for the most part has done very well in school. He has been mowing the lawn this summer and this money will go toward the new amateur guitar. Parenting is never easy but overall we feel we can count our blessings!
My daughter is just SO cute. I know all parents must say that about their kids but I really do love watching her grow as I re-experience that unspoiled child-like innocence! As a family we are getting together along with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins to celebrate her sixth birthday. All our daughter can talk about is how much she wants a guitar. She is pretty insistent and somewhat persistent when she wants something. My husband did a pretty thorough search for childrens electric guitars and found some absolutely adorable guitars for our aspiring little musician!
On Sunday we will present her with a childrens electric guitar that I know she will just love! I believe that one of her cousins already has a kids guitar that he really enjoys so he may be able to give her a few pointers. I look forward to some lovely impromptu concerts form our little rocker! I want to enjoy that period of innocence for as long as I can!
My kids have a good life and even though money is tight we make the most of it. My daughter just completed her first year in college and I do what I can to help her out financially. She wants to go to graduate school to become a psychologist and I know she will be very good at this! My youngest son brightens up the whole house with his energy and his smile and is most content playing with his army figures in the sandbox outside! I should be so lucky! My middle son, Steve has struggled to find himself at times, I guess you could call it the “middle child syndrome”. He likes to hang out with his friends and play guitar. He has borrowed his friend’s guitars and did buy himself a used amateur guitar with his own paper route money that lasted maybe two years at best.
As Steve approaches his fifteenth birthday I have decided to bite the bullet and get him a beginner electric guitar. I think it is a good investment since he loves it so much and obviously will get a lot of use out of it. Even as I search for cheap electric guitars online I am surprised at the good quality and affordable guitars I am seeing! I have bookmarked a couple of sites for my son to look at. It’s really good to see Steve find a niche for himself.
So you want to learn acoustic guitar, what do you need to get started? Most importantly you’ll need the right guitar. There are some things about guitars you need to know. There are 2 types of acoustic guitars, the standard American steel string classic or the “classical” Spanish guitar with nylon strings. If you want to play standard songs like “House of the Rising Sun” and classic rock tunes, a steel string is the best choice. If you want to play classical music then get the nylon string guitar. If the guitar is for a child then you’ll need a 3/4 size or even 1/2 size guitar. There are many affordable childrens acoustic guitars that are also of good quality As an adult, a full size is great. But even the full scale guitars can vary somewhat in the size of the body. When you try guitars out at the store make sure you’re comfortable with the size. Nowadays good acoustic guitars are affordable! It might be a good idea to get light gauge strings so the strings will hurt you less when you are first learning to play.
Learning only a handful of easy guitar chords at the beginning may be your best choice. These chords are the following: C, A, G, E, D as well as A minor, E minor and D minor. D7 and A7 are also included in this grouping of easy guitar chords. As you progress you’ll discover other things to learn such as the infamous F chord. But for now, keep your focus on these easy guitar chords to avoid frustration. If you find the chords physically demanding, use a capo. The capo is a device that clamps onto the guitar to make the strings shorter. They’re usually very inexpensive and it can make a big difference in the beginning. It’s entirely possible to teach yourself from the right books or online resources. Keep it simple for now with the 10 aforementioned easy guitar chords. Do your best to get them sounding clear. Put the capo at the 2nd or 3rd fret if you need to. Once you have a couple of shapes memorized, try switching back and forth between them and pretty soon you’ll be on your way.
The most common guitar today is the acoustic guitar. Parents usually buy their kids smaller guitars that they can actually play. Kids acoustic guitars are about 30 centimeters long and have very thin strings. Adults usually use the average size one which is about a meter long. The nice thing about the acoustic guitar is that is does not have to be connected to a power supply and you can actually carry it when you travel. There are a number of guitars that fall into the acoustic guitar group. The Flamenco acoustic guitar is similar to the Classical guitar but a little slimmer It produces a crisper sound. A flamenco guitar is a type of guitar, built for the purpose of playing Flamenco music. Flamenco guitar can also refer to toque, the guitar-playing part of the art of Flamenco. The Classical acoustic guitar is what most beginners choose when they are first learning to play. It has a modern guitar shape and the individual strings are often plucked with fingers or fingernails instead of using a plectrum.
The Twelve strings acoustic guitar has twelve strings, (not surprisingly) producing a richer and more ringing tone than the standard six string guitar. This guitar has a natural chorus effect because of the subtle differences in string timbre. Finally the Resonator acoustic guitar produces a sound by one or more metal cones or resonators instead of the wooden soundboard. A resonator guitar is usually played by blues guitar players. One has many options of which to choose when deciding to play acoustic guitar.
I have been a fan of the guitar my whole life. I played electric bass guitar in a local band as a teenager and still occasionally play classical guitar today. It is not a surprise that my offspring also learned to love the guitar as well. My seventeen year old son also plays bass guitar in a local, hot,and up and coming band in our area. My daughter, (my baby girl) seems to really enjoy soft rock and folk music like her mother. She has requested that we get her a beginner acoustic guitar for her birthday. I really can’t think of a more perfect gift!
Having been around guitars most of my life, I have a pretty good sense where to begin looking. I also know that there are some good deals for beginner acoustic guitars online. My daughter’s birthday is in June and she has always liked that because her birthday also coincides with the end of the school year. I believe that this year she will like her birthday even more. Can’t wait!
Fortunately for kids today guitars no longer feel like they weigh a hundred kilos. Gone are the days when a guitar was just available in one color and one texture (wooden) with strings attached. Children nowadays learn to play both acoustic and electric guitars for kids! Here’s a preview of the various aspects of kids electric guitar lessons. A good insight for all those who want musical impressions in their child’s personality! Electric guitars are fun and do not cease to make a stylish statement. As a parent, you can either get your kids a private guitar teacher or you could send your kid to guitar classes whereby the student groups are bigger. This allows your child to interact with other students as well.
The lessons for electric guitar playing are accessible so easily. It is a true fact that kids feel like they are mini-rock stars often, when they play any guitar that is electrically enhanced. One may wonder what the difference between an acoustic guitar and an electric one is. The difference is a fine line. The difference is that an electric guitar needs an amplifier but is easier to play or use. The acoustic guitar does not require an amplifier and also has the choice of two types of strings (strings of the guitar); which can be steel string or nylon string. Kids electric guitar lessons, which can be taught by a variety of means, is a huge welcome to the era of the new age kid on the block!
My son you could say is a bit of a “chip off the old block”. He has watched me play acoustic guitar and mandolin for many years. We had bought him kids electric guitar when he was five and basically he wore the thing out. He has been pretty much a fast learner and now he wants to play both acoustic and electric guitar and has asked us if we could get him both for his upcoming birthday that will not only be a birthday present but a Christmas present as well! Of course he knows that by the time Christmas rolls around we will get him some Christmas gifts! My son has been playing in a band and believes that music will be his life. We however want him to also get an education
My wife is very supportive but can also be more practical than me because I too love guitar and understand getting lost in the passion for it. She is the emotional gatekeeper in our family and she seems to help our family create balance. She wants our son to own a cool guitar or guitars as long as he lives a balanced life and is happy. I can’t argue with that and in the long run our son can’t either!
I have five children who all have very different interests. My two older sons play soccer, my middle daughter is a very good pianist and my youngest son loves riding his bike and wreaking havoc on our home any chance he gets. My youngest daughter and the “baby of the family” says that she wants to learn guitar just like her father. Her father, my husband has played acoustic and electric guitar with friends throughout the years at churches, wedding receptions, and local watering holes in our area. My daughter is quite aware that she has a birthday in April and has decided that she wants an acoustic guitar! I am game as long as she realizes that she needs to have balance in her life and be involved in other activities
My husband has many contacts and does know an awful lot about guitars. He thinks that a childrens acoustic guitar would be perfect for our daughter and says that he know where to find discount childrens guitars that are quality products. My husband is quite excited to give our daughter some proper instruction but realizes that she may need further lessons with someone who teaches on a more regular basis.
I love music and can’t imagine my life without it. It has been a part of my life since I was a toddler. I started singing in the choir at the age of five and also played drums, piano and guitar ever since I can remember. So I must say that I am thrilled that my children also seem to understand the joy that music brings. My eldest son loves the drums and we bought him a kids drumset when he was six years old and he has been banging on the drums ever since.
This past Christmas my wife and I could see that my daughter is an aspiring musician and a childrens acoustic guitar would be the perfect gift for her. We really had fun looking at all the different types of childrens acoustic guitars and we really had to narrow down our options as there are so many great guitars out there that are available for children. The icing on the cake was to see her reaction on Christmas morning. We are all so happy to see how much she really loves it and seems to possess some natural ability. I believe that music is the “spice of life” and I am glad that my family can experience this wonderful outlet!
