The winter dulldrums are here! There is no escaping it. It is forcing our family and I know many others to stay indoors. I guess if we have to be indoors than we better find things to do that please us and help us occupy our time. For instance we got our son a beginner electric guitar for Christmas and he couldn’t be happier. He just needs to keep the noise at an acceptable level. He seems to be a quick learner and has already completed the guitar songbooks we bought him.
I did have fun with my husband exploring many different types of amateur guitars. I am glad that he is happy but he also needs to be considerate of the other people in the house. Actually I think that tomorrow night he is planning on giving us a mini concert to let us see and hear how much he has learned in a short period of time. That should be fun! Now how many weeks until spring?
For Christmas this year, I was at a loss as to what to get for my little brother. He is one of those kids who goes out and buys himself everything that he wants, and any present that you get him is sure to be a disappointment. The last time I visited him, however, I noticed that he had a mild obsession with the videogame Rockband.
While his actual guitar is gathering dust in his room, the buttons to his video game model are nearly worn out. In order to inspire him to pick up the real instrument once again, I purchased him the Rockband songbook. Hopefully having the same songs from the game at his disposal will serve as motivation to pick up his real guitar again.
