We haven’t had to work too hard to get our kids interested in hobbies. They have tried all kinds of sports, (from baseball to soccer) and musical instruments (from piano to kids drums). Recently our seven year old daughter came home from school and said that she know what she wants to do with her life, she wants to play electric guitar like her idols, the Jonas Brothers. Oh God! Tell me this is just a phase! My husband thinks this is great and assures me that it’s all in fun. He said that he recently saw a childrens guitar that was heart shaped and thinks our daughter might like something like that!
Our little girl is so enthusiastic and her love of guitar is no different. We will take our daughter shopping soon for some beginner electric guitars! Last night we looked at some childrens electric guitars online and bookmarked some sites that we really liked. Our daughter can hardly contain her excitement! Her birthday is next month and that should be plenty of time to pick the best most affordable beginner electric guitar for our rock star wannabe!
My daughter has been a fan of Hannah Montana for several years. She has informed us that she knows that she can sing like Hannah Montana and also REALLY wants to learn to play guitar. My wife is all for it and says that even if this interest is just a phase, she thinks we should honor it. Our daughter’s birthday is March 14th and my wife says that she has begun looking at childrens electric guitars online. She has bookmarked some good websites and wants me to check out some really cool guitars that she believes our daughter will love.
So we are going to get her involved in our church choir. She is excited about this but says that it’s rock music that she really wants to sing. I guess it will be fun for the whole family to listen to our daughter sing and play her childrens electric guitar! I am quite sure that our daughter will have a very happy birthday!
As a father of five children it can be a struggle at times to make ends meet but we manage ok and more importantly we love each other to death. That’s not to say that we don’t really try each other’s nerves at times but I guess what family who spend a lot of time together doesn’t? Our middle energetic son who also struggles with Attention Deficit Disorder has been FASCINATED with the electric guitar for awhile now. My wife and I finally broke down this Christmas and bought him a beginner electric guitar! We were concerned however that he already HATES doing his homework and will purchasing him a kids guitar prove to be yet another distraction for him? I must say that our search online confirmed what we had heard and that is that childrens electric guitars are more affordable than you might think.
I don’t think I have ever seen someone happier than my son on Christmas morning. He jammed for all of us during Christmas vacation, (ok I will say that his siblings and even my wife weren’t always as enthusiastic and he and I were but for the most part they were good sports!) Now that he is back in school we finally realized that his guitar playing is VERY much contingent upon completion of homework. The first week he very much protested but now he realizes that the longer he protests the shorter time he has to play his beloved guitar, what leverage! We plan on getting him some guitar lessons soon which makes him very happy.
All the excitement of the holidays are over and now the January “blahs” are here. My kids are hoping for a big snowstorm so that they can get some more time off from school. In the meantime some of the pleasant memories from Christmas still remain. For instance, we bought our son a childrens electric guitar. He could not be more happy! He literally wants to “jam” morning, noon and night! We are glad for this and my husband and I did have quite a ball researching childrens electric guitars.
My older daughter has voiced concerns about all of her brother’s guitar playing. She however should really talk because she seems to fill the house with song as she “rocks out” to her Ipod. I think we will be getting some guitar instructional DVD’s soon. We hope to get through the winter and before you know it spring will be here. Hang in there everybody!
The new year and/or new decade is here ready or not. We feel that it will be a good year and we continue to wish for peace on earth! I have been fortunate to be able to take time off from work from Christmas through New Year’s and really enjoyed the quality family time we got to spend together. We had a good Christmas and the kids really seemed to enjoy their gifts. Our son was most enamored with the childrens electric guitar that we got him! He seems to want to “jam” all day long! I am glad that my wife and I did such a good job researching childrens electric guitars! He just LOVES this guitar and it really seems to be the “perfect” fit for him in many ways!
We are blessed to have the chance to start fresh in this wonderful new year and we believe that this is a wonderful time to take stock of your life and set realistic goals. Our best wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy and fun filled 2010!
Christmas was so wonderful this year! We took a chance and bought our eight year old son a kids electric guitar and what a hit has been. My wife and I looked long and hard at various types of childrens electric guitars and feel so good that we seemed to find the perfect fit for him, (a 31 inch sunburst electric guitar). We know he wants to be a rocker and that is fine with us as long as he doesn’t fall behind in school.
Yesterday our son performed a nice little concert for us. My wife has now insisted that we get lessons for him and says that she will also see that he watches the learn to play guitar DVD’s that we bought him. I am thrilled at the possibility of both of us playing together one day. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and best wishes for a special 2010!
With Christmas Eve only 2 days away, my husband and I finally feel that we are ready for the big day. We decided at the last minute to get an electric guitar for our son and finally found one that was shipped to us yesterday. My husband had started searching on line for childrens electric guitars last week. We feel really excited about giving this gift as we know he REALLY wants to play guitar! My husband will play Santa Claus tomorrow night and we will be quite happy Christmas morning to see the look on his face when he sees what Santa has brought.
I will be glad when the rush of Christmas is over but I still love to see the joy in my kid’s faces when they receive the gifts that they really want. My daughter will be thrilled beyond belief that she gets the Barbie dolls and accessories that she wanted. A kids guitar, what more could my son ask for? Yes Santa Claus is coming to town!
I want my children to be involved in the hobbies that feel like the best fit for them. I must admit however that I am very thrilled when they have chosen some type of musical pursuit. Music has been the icing on the cake for all of my life. I grew up playing classical music on the violin and sang in choir my whole life. My wife has played the harp and has performed in more types of venues that I can possibly remember. Our eldest daughter also plays classical violin and piano. My middle son has played the drums as well as the trombone. My youngest son seems to want to break tradition, (but only in regards to classical music) and play the electric guitar!
My wife doesn’t seem to know want to make of this but I think we should honor his wish. He is only seven years old but I have already begun the search for childrens electric guitars. I am also going to purchase DVD’s and books for beginner guitar lessons. I think this will be fun and since Christmas is practically next week we better get a move on. I am confident however that come Christmas morning my son will have a cool guitar to jam on!
We are a family of rockers! My husband has been a lead bass guitar player in a band for years. I often sing back up in his band. My elder son has played the drums for years and an expressed an interest in this as a child. We got him a kids drum set when he was eight years old and that was it, he’s been a drummer ever since. Now our younger son is showing signs already that he too wants to be a rocker!, what a surprise! Instead of playing the drums like his brother he says he wants to be a lead guitar like his father. My husband could not be more pleased! He has already begun his search for some good childrens electric guitars and now is having difficulty deciding which one to pick since there are so many good ones!
I can see our family performing together for many years to come and this makes me very happy. Music has been a wonderful conduit for closeness and bonding in our family. A Very Merry Christmas to everyone and may we all strive for Peace on Earth!
The wonderful sound of music has always filled our home. I play the organ for the church choir and my husband plays the bassoon at various functions in our community. My oldest daughter plays the cello in her school’s orchestra. Out youngest son has just informed us that he too wants to play an instrument and just knows that we will be thrilled about this. Never in my wildest dreams did I think he would want to play electric guitar!!!! I was very unsure about this but my husband seems to think that it’s a great idea and it he wants to play so badly then he will receive proper instruction.
My husband has told me that he knows where to find some really good childrens electric guitars. He thinks he can get a really good deal on some cool guitars that our son will really love! I feel however that if he is going to get a kids electric guitar then he is going to learn proper technique (i.e. a good instructor and some learn to play guitar books and DVD’s) As long as we can live with a peaceful noise level in our home then I guess I’m game!
