My wife and I became parents five years ago when we had our son. Two years later we had a daughter. With kids so young a birthday is a HUGE event and something to look forward to for weeks on end. Those were the days when you looked forward to your birthday! Our kids recently spent time with their 16 year old cousin Kevin. Kevin is a drummer in a band and our son is so taken by him. Ever since our most recent visit, our son says that what he most wants for his birthday is a drum set like Kevin’s.
I am glad that my son looks up to Kevin and I am starting my search for childrens drums. I think this will be a lot of fun and my wife is all for it too as long as he keeps the noise to an acceptable level. It is nice to know that kids drumsets are reasonably priced and should last him several years at least. Kids grow so fast and we are always so busy. I have to make the very most of their childhood years and watching my son play with a childrens drumset is a wonderful part of doing just that!
My kids have all chosen to play instruments and we are happy about that for the most part. Things are a little noisy at times but since our kids are happy and well adjusted we are game. Our oldest son chose to play guitar at a young age. We bought him a kids electric guitar that was recommended by a therapist who thought a hobby like guitar would help our son learn to channel some of his energy that stems from his ADHD diagnosis. And the rest they say is history, he has been playing that crazy guitar ever since! Our studious daughter LOVES piano and has dreams that one day she will be a concert pianist. We’ll see!
Our son, our baby seems to be following the family tradition. He says that he wants to play the drums. This does not surprise me as he seems to enjoy tapping on the kitchen table much to the chagrin of my tired and overworked husband! Our young son has a summer birthday and I am beginning to look at childrens drumsets now. It is actually kind of fun and I know my little boy will be SO pleased! He really looks up to his brother and nothing would make him happier than if he could play his little childrens drumset with his big bro!
Our very adorable five year old son is SO excited about his sixth birthday that is coming up on the second of April. He wants to play the drums in the worst way and my husband and I believe that it would be a great idea to get him a kids drumset. My brother got his son a childrens drumset two years ago and it went over so well that I have no problem getting one for our son. I will start bookmarking sites that include drums for kids that pique the interest of both my husband and myself.
I am excited to watch my kids and grow and nothing makes me happier than to see them happy! I am probably just as excited as my son is for his birthday to come! They’re only young once and I don’t want to miss a minute! Spoken from a grateful parent who at the moment appears to have her priorities straight!
Right now I feel I am in that sandwich generation because I’m not only taking care of my children but my aging parents as well. I don’t mind because in the end I realize that my parents took such good care of me and I know that one day my children will take care of me. It’s just that at times I feel squeezed between these two slices of bread. My father has been struggling with heart disease and my wife and I have been back and forth to various doctors about his condition. We also have been making preparations for son’s seventh birthday who wants to play drums in the worst way just like his older brother Kenny.
We didn’t have much time to plan for our young son’s birthday but it didn’t take too much time to do a search online to find some really cool kids drumsets. By the next day we found the kids drumset we wanted and two days later it arrived! We are keeping this very special childrens drumset at my office until the big day arrives. I admit that I don’t have much time to myself these days and things often get done at the last minute but the most important thing is that they do get done and that we all love each other! You can’t ask for anything more!
Music has been a part of mine and my family’s life for many years. As a teenager, (back in the dark ages) I played drums in a band. I just loved that, much to my parent’s chagrin. My parents were from the Big Band era, (music I also love) but to my parents there is no other type of music. Now my young son seems to also want to listen to the beat of the drum. His birthday is in a couple of weeks and I have my eye on a childrens drumset that I think he would love!
If he grows up and wants to play in a band this is ok with me as long as he is happy and can make it on his own! My oldest daughter has played piano for years and while she isn’t playing piano for a career, it is a very important part of her life and she does still love to perform. We will get some drum lessons for our son if he wants. I will say that life without the sound of music would be pretty dull and I think my family would agree!
For the most part I am a happy man. While I don’t love my job every day and you could even say that there are those days when to say I “like” my job, is pushing it! However in these troubled times, one must be grateful to even have a job. We have a nice home and while we certainly don’t live “high off the hog” we do feel very blessed. What is most important to my wife and I is that are kids are happy and well adjusted. It is at times a never ending job to see that you are kids are happy and learning to love themselves but if I could use anything as a barometer of my own worth as a man it would be that my kids love themselves for who they “really” are.
My five year old son kept telling my wife and I that he wanted to play the drums. He not only told us this verbally but he also showed it by his actions, (i.e. beating on anything he can find around the house including chairs, the floor and even his mother’s beloved coffee table!) This past Christmas we knew we had to look for a kids drumset, there was no question about it! We looked at various types of childrens drumsets and found much more than we bargained for. We chose a childrens drumset that we thought he would like and he just LOVES it. Our house is filled with the beat beat beat of the drum! I must say however that even at the age of five, he seems to have good rhythm and I believe he has potential. If he’s happy than I’m happy and all is good in the world, (at least are corner of it!)
So it’s the last day of the year! How does the time go SO fast? We just got through another good Christmas. Our kids still seem to be enjoying their gifts, so that’s good. As we prepare for New Year’s Eve, my young son promises to give us another concert as we more than likely will be watching new Year’s Rockin Eve again this year! We bought our son a childrens drumset and he just LOVES it! We really did our homework while searching for childrens drumsets.
I feel that success as a parent is seeing the joy in the eyes of your children. Money and career is important but nothing can beat the love between parent and child! Our older son loves karate and is soon prime to be a black belt. Sharing this accomplishment with him has been an incredible bonding experience for our family! My wish for this new year is that everyone can experience joy, sense of purpose and to be able to experience life as authentically as possible!
Last year my 7 year old son came home from school after attending music class saying he HAD to get some drums because he wants to grow up and be a rock star! I thought this was quite humorous and went right along with it. My wife and I purchased a childrens drumset and we have never looked back. Our son loves to “bang on the drums all day!” This has sometimes not gone over to well with my wife who requires an understandable amount of peace and quiet!
My darling daughter just 6 years old says she wants an electric guitar for Christmas. I said to my wife, “Here we go again!” However since the drums have gone over so well with our son, why not get a childrens electric guitar? Who knows maybe our children will form their own little band. I am doing a search for beginner childrens guitars right now and know that I have to act quickly as Christmas is next week! I think this is a lot of fun. Maybe we’ll have to build a sound proof studio so my wife can definitely keep her sanity!
Oliver wants a drumset and nothing else will do. He assures me that Santa has a bigger sleigh this year and is sure to have room for the childrens drumset he saw in the music store the other day. Oliver doesn’t realize that we have been in a recession this year and perhaps even Santa has been affected by it, (parts may just be too expensive to get this year).
My brilliant husband seems to be amused by it all. So in addition to looking for Ipods, a new Wii and inline skates, it looks like I will also be searching for childrens drumsets! After all if Santa has a new sleigh this year then we might as well fill it up and if he can also fit a diamond ring for me then we’ll really be set!
I have a wonderfully talented daughter who just informed that she must now add a childrens drumset to her repertoire. She began singing at a young age and would pick up any object our home and pretend to play the guitar like her older brother. Next you know we bought her a really cute kids electric guitar! She formed her own little band claiming she would be taking over Miley Cyrus’ job any day now. Now at the age of 8 we need to find her a kids drumset so she can complete her band!
My husband is along for the ride and tells me that if it is what she really wants than he is all for it! I tend to do most of the Christmas shopping so I must now size up childrens drumsets so we can get a good one in time for Christmas! Maybe she’ll be issuing concert tickets soon! I’ll let you know!
