My son has a big birthday coming up, he will be thirteen.  He thinks that this is a big deal as he will now be a teenager.  He was born in the year 1997, the year my father passed away which my son and I feel make him special because we believe my son is a gift from my father!!.  To commemorate this most special occasion, (i.e. becoming a teenager) he would like to acquire an acoustic guitar!  Ok!  Despite the fact that it’s been a rough year financially due to my wife being laid off, my wife and I believe that we will be able to get a beginner acoustic guitar for him!  My friends have assured me that good quality cheap acoustic guitars are available!  After searching the internet last night, I believe that they are in fact correct!

My son is hoping for a bigger birthday this year because he is now a teenager and only three years from being able to drive a car as he keeps reminding us!!  Look out!!  I do feel good that we are able to get a very quality and affordable cool guitar for our son.  Yes I think we will have a very happy teenager very soon!

Do you want to buy a good quality acoustic guitar but finances are getting in your way?  You might be surprised to know that you can have your own guitar without compromising the quality for a price you can easily afford.  Sound too good to be true?   The reason cheap acoustic guitars are available at low prices is because they are made of inexpensive materials.  This is also true of many other types of guitars as well.  In the manufacturing process of these instruments, low-priced material is used from wood to strings and from straps to chords. But, if you want, you can replace the parts with the high quality parts later. You will get better sound from your guitar if you replace its cheap pickups. A Win/Win Situation!

I think that our daughter would rather play guitar than eat sometimes.  It is probably the one activity in lie that we don’t have to motivate her to do.  At school she didn’t show much interest in sports, or  being a part of school plays.  She always gravitated toward instruments, the guitar in particular.  At the age of ten, we chose to get buy her a childrens acoustic guitar for her birthday.  She seems to love country and folk music so it we felt it was the perfect choice for her.  She has learned to become proficient in such a short period of time!  She has learned the basics form Dvd’s and the internet and we hope to get her an instructor to further hone her skills!

I am very pleased at her progress and was at first concerned that she would isolate herself from her peers but to the contrary she has been having them over for “mini” concerts!  My husband and I were concerned about cost when we purchased a kids acoustic guitar for our daughter but when we searched  for cheap acoustic guitars online we were amazed at the availability of good quality and affordable guitars for children!  All in all it has really been a win/win situation!

A Good Summer After All!

We have fun in our family even when we fall on hard times.  We’ve never had a lot of money and finances are even tighter now.  Ever since I was laid off last December things have been really tight.  I am working part-time at a drug store and my wife does work full-time but we have no savings and just hope to be able to pay our bills every month.  Even though we really can’t afford it, we are going to take our annual family vacation to Virginia Beach.  We always go the second week in July.   Our middle son has a birthday and we have a good time celebrating it while we are on vacation together.

Our son has said that he REALLY REALLY wants an acoustic guitar for his birthday.  He does realize however that money is very tight.  Lately however he has been dropping hints that cheap acoustic guitars can be found online.  I think it is worth a search online to see if he is right.  I do believe that acoustic guitars for kids are cheaper than full sized acoustic guitars.  Maybe this will be a great summer after all!

Looking to The Future!

My daughter is a HUGE fan of Faith Hill.  She has been listening to her music for years and even tries to dress like Faith Hill.  More than anything in the world, my daughter wants a beginner acoustic guitar.  I want very much to get this gift for my daughter but expenses are tight since I was laid off from my job in January.  My wife does work full time but with her income we barely make ends meet.   My daughter has a birthday in June and I have begun an online search for cheap acoustic guitars in hopes of finding a guitar of good quality but yet affordable.

I love being a father and I feel like I have a special bond with my daughter.  When I was her age I too played acoustic guitar.  I continued to play acoustic and electric guitar in college and got to play at college parties and bars on campus.  I look forward to seeing where my daughter will go with her guitar playing.  She also has a good voice and has been singing for years.  As I look into the future it looks quite bright!
