I love my sons and as they get older I begin to realize that we have more and more in common. I really like that as it creates more bonding time for us as a family. I have been an avid hunter most all my life and both of my sons have now experienced the joy of spending time in the woods. At the age of fourteen I played drums in a local band that was very popular when I was growing up. I have continued to play intermittently and now my younger son seems to have caught the bug!
My drum set is old, out of date and seems to have more than a few scratches from wear and tear so I’ve decided that it’s time to invest some money now and buy him a beginner drum set. I think it is important to have the right equipment when you are starting out and having the right beginner drums is really key! I really feel like a kid in a candy store looking at beginner drum sets and in a way wish that I too was learning to play again. Oh well, I love to live vicariously through my children and see life through their eyes, like the joy on their faces when they’ve just done something for the first time! If it were up to my son he would just bang on those drums ALL DAY LONG! I love to see that he is SO enthusiastic as does his mother but his siblings want and deserve some peace and quiet in their own household! Our son had been absolutely BEGGING us to buy him a beginner drum set for his eleventh birthday and after A LOT of persuasion, we finally acquiesced and purchased him some very good quality amateur drums. He is actually taking lessons from our next door neighbor and we already see some improvement. I know he dreams of playing in a band and I hope to see that dream come to fruition as long as he keeps it in perspective!
It seems that there are so many beginner drum sets today that are tailored to kids and are helpful to an individual who is just starting to learn the basics. I am very impressed! I too had a fascination with the drums when I was his age and I would have loved to have had a drum set like his! Now as a parent I can relive my own fantasies through him. What could be better? Now if we could just all agree on an acceptable noise level!
My mother has spoiled my kids for many years and while I am delighted to see this, I wish that he had treated me and my three siblings half as well. She is well aware of all my children’s birthdays and because she knows that I am a single parent wants to dote on my kids even more. She knows that my very lovely young daughter is approaching her sixth birthday and more than anything in the world, wants to play the drums! I don’t want my mom to spend too much money and so I told her that a childrens drum set would be just fine
Mom wants to buy a kids drum set that is of good quality and will last. I have been doing a search online for beginner drum sets. My daughter will be thrilled beyond belief! I only wish that when I was my daughter’s age and began playing the drums my mother had been even remotely this enthusiastic. Don’t get me wrong my mother is a lovely lady who only gets more lovely with time!

Yesterday I looked for some beginner drum sets that do seem to be in our price range and a little cheaper than I thought they would be. I have to admit that when I was young, I too loved the drums and wish that there had been more of the kids drum sets that I see available today! Hey you only turn seven once, let him have all the fun he truly deserves!
