My husband loves country music and blue grass music just about more than anything else in life. His enthusiasm seems to have rubbed off our children, most particularly our son Ethan. My husband enjoys playing acoustic guitar and Ethan seems to relish the time he gets to spend with his father watching him play. We would love nothing more than to surprise Ethan this Christmas with his very own childrens acoustic guitar! My husband has a lot of connections and seems to have quite a lot of friends who really know guitars and know where to find quality beginner childrens guitars.
I am so excited to know that we can find a good affordable kids acoustic guitar and have it sent to us well before his birthday at the end of October! Ethan’s older brother also shares the family passion of loving to play guitar and is actually a bass guitarist in a local band. We also started him with a beginner guitar and saw amazing results! One day I know I’ll be sitting in the front row watching my husband and two sons play together!!
We have been looking for a new innovative gift to get our eight year old son for his birthday that doesn’t necessarily correspond with the ‘digital’ age which sometimes inhibits kids from using their creativity. Our son has said that he wants to learn to play an instrument and has been ‘hinting’ that he’d like to learn how to play guitar. He also loves rock music. My very clever and resourceful wife began researching beginner childrens guitars. She is really ‘in love’ with the idea of getting him one and has at least five beginner guitars picked out that she’s sure our son will be ‘over the moon’ about!
Upon further investigation my wife and I actually both agree on the same beginner childrens guitar that we feel is the best deal for the very best price! My wife and I are SO excited that WE can hardly wait for our son’s birthday so much so that we may even go out and purchase amateur guitars for ourselves! Ahh to be young again!!!
The easiest guitar chords for a beginner guitarist to play are the ones that only use one finger. It is best to use the standard guitar tuning and first master your guitar chords that way. Here are some simple chords you can play on your guitar using standard tuning. The first is the G chord – one finger version. When using this chord, place your third finger behind the third fret, on the first string of the guitar, and strum the first four strings, (this is referred to as a simplified G chord). The strings on a guitar are numbered one to six, and the first string is the thinnest string that has the highest pitch. The second, third and fourth finger are the rest in logical sequence. Frets are the metal bars in the fretboard behind which you place your fingers. The frets are numbered from the nut, so the nut of the guitar is basically zero. A long time ago, some guitars actually had a nut, followed by a zero fret that the strings rested on. If you place your first finger on the first fret of the first string, and play the first four strings, you’ve got a G7 chord. You could also play the simplified C chord on guitar. For this chord you place your first finger on the second string behind the first fret and only strum the first three strings. The C and G guitar chords go very well together, but are only suited to a two chord song on the guitar.
Open chords are called open because they are all played within the first three fret spaces of the guitar, and use some notes from the open unfretted strings. The most common guitar chords for beginners are the major and minor open chords. The major chords consist of A, C, D, E and G. For the minor guitar chords you’ve got A minor (a small m is the usual suffix used for minor chords, so it is written Am then Dm and Em). The open chords are the building blocks for more complex and difficult chords on the guitar, and even though there are some chords missing, by changing the key of some songs, you could easily build a fairly large repertoire of songs to play with open chords. These tips are helpful for both children and adults. Adults seem to have a large selection of guitars form which to choose but there are some good quality beginner childrens guitars also suitable for learning to play chords. Best of luck and have fun!
My son wants a guitar for his birthday period. If I can only get him one gift that is fine but make sure that I get him an electric guitar. I must admit that I didn’t expect to hear this from my seven year old! In my mind, age seven is a time to run, play, skin your knees and ride your bicycle to the corner store for ice cream, (it least in my day this was so). Look call me a ‘fuddy duddy”, I mean I love guitar more than anyone but I don’t want my kids to grow up to soon!
Do they even make electric guitars for kids? Yeah, I guess they do. Yeah, I know they do! So it’s off to the “net” I go in search of beginner childrens guitars! Well If I don’t say so myself, there are more websites selling beginner electric guitars than you can shake a stick at! I must say I’m not really surprised I mean if you can’t find it on the internet you’re not going to find it anywhere period! Looks like my “eager beaver” will be “rockin out” with his childrens electric guitar in hand pretty darn soon!
I have lived a good life. I married young and have a good wife that has stood by me all these years. We have three children, a son and two daughters. Our son and older daughter now have children of their own. Music has always been a big part of our family with all of my children playing musical instruments throughout their lives. Out son still plays guitar at our church and at bars and coffee houses. Now his nine year old son has developed that “itch” to learn to play guitar too. So my son and I are thinking of getting him an early birthday present and have begun looking for beginner childrens guitars!
Boy have times changed. There is so much more to choose from. Now there are guitars for children that are specified for a child’s particular needs. I know we will find the perfect beginner childrens guitar that my grandson will love! I am so glad that our family’s tradition of loving and playing music continues! After all, the family that plays together stays together!
Life is pretty good at our house and for the most part we should be blessed. Money is tight since my husband lost his job in October even thought he is getting a severance pay for now he has had no luck finding another job but we remain hopeful. Our very creative and humorous son says that he really wants to learn to play guitar and says that if we get a guitar for his birthday coming up, he will be so happy that we won’t have to get him any gifts for Christmas. I said to my husband that he must really want a guitar if he is willing to even forego Christmas Of course he knows that come Christmas day we will get him something.
Since our son is only nine years old we will not get his an adult sized guitar but will instead look for beginner childrens guitars. I know he will be thrilled and as parents we aim to please just as long as our children learn to appreciate what they have and not take it for granted. Our son will be pleased to get a beginner childrens guitar as my husband and I have found that they are not as expensive as we originally had thought. Yes it will be a Very Happy Birthday indeed!
Your kids are only young once and it just seems like they grow up before you know it! Where did the time go? Was it just yesterday that we took the training wheels off my now sixteen year old son’s bicycle? Now more than ever my husband and I seem to want to relish the growing years of our five year old son before he loses that all too precious childlike joy! This Christmas he told Santa that a new guitar would make him the most happy. My husband and I weren’t sure quite where to find the best quality but also affordable beginner childrens guitars. The internet proved to be quite a help to us. We finally both agreed on a panda shaped guitar that we knew our son would love!!
Christmas morning arrived and presenting our son with this beginner guitar proved to be the highlight of Christmas for us! I don’t think I have ever seen someone more excited in my life and believe me his joy is OUR joy! We can tolerate the noise because it just seems to make him SO happy! When he gets a little older should he still be interested in guitar, (and all indications make it appear that he will be), we will have him take guitar lessons. May 2010 be your best year yet!
I guess I should be grateful, I have a good wife, good family and a good job, (my job can be very stressful but I should be glad at this point that I even have a job). Sometimes after the holidays there can really be a feeling of being let down as all the excitement seems to be over. I must say however that there are many good memories from this holiday season that I will treasure. We decided to get our daughter her first guitar. She seems to really love it and that makes us very happy!
Our daughter kept saying that a friend of her from school has a beginner guitar and that she would like to learn how to play the kids acoustic guitar! We felt that Christmas was a good time to get her started on this. We were quite pleased with the vast selection of beginner childrens guitars available. She will start taking beginner guitar lessons next week. She is very excited about this and most importantly we are glad for her too!
As a mom I can honestly say that I am very content. The holiday season is over but the memories linger and will remain dear in my heart! Overall we had a really nice Christmas and a peaceful new year! My only wish is that the season would not be such a “rushed” time so more of it could be spent enjoying the magic of the season. I TRULY loved experiencing the joy my family felt as they really seemed to love their gifts. In particular, I really liked watching my daughter go “crazy” over the beginner childrens guitar we gave her for Christmas. To say she loves this gift would be an understatement!
My husband and I really enjoyed looking at various beginner childrens guitars and now know that our research has really paid off. She seems to already have learned some chords from her learn to play guitar DVD. Our son has been listening to his new Ipod nonstop and that makes me happy. As long as they can get back to school and keep up with their studies, I’ll be able to relax. Best wishes for an awesome 2010!
For the most part Christmas was a success. The kids seemed happy, my wife seemed happy and again all was well in our little humble abode. We seemed to have a lot of success this year with our middle daughter who finally got her most prized possession in life, a kids electric guitar! She is very happy about this and has already been gearing up to give a little “concert” for our friends who will be coming over to the house on New Year’s Eve!
I am happy for my daughter and we are glad because we looked at so many beginner childrens guitars before we finally found the right one and as soon as we saw the Hannah Montana guitar, we knew we had to get it for her! I guess we will have to encourage her to watch the learn to play guitar DVD’s that we bought her. As long as she doesn’t ask us to be her manager and take her on auditions, I’m fine, kids!
