I hate to be the nagging parent and harp on my kids for not taking care of their things and realizing that money doesn’t grow on trees. A prime example of this is with my daughter; we bought her a beginner childrens guitar for Christmas and I have already found it lying around the house where it could be easily bumped and ruined. She even had to replace several broken strings after her little brother tried to play the guitar. My husband and I put a lot of effort and time into this purchase and looked at a lot of beginner childrens guitars so we expect this instrument to be treated with the upmost respect.
Since her grandparents gave her money for Christmas, my husband and I decided to mandate that the money be spent on a childrens guitar case. While she obviously was opposed to the idea,(as she feels that it is HER money) we know that she will be thankful when the case inevitably prolongs the life of this precious instrument
As a practical mom I want my kids to pick careers and hobbies that will serve them well later in life. The hobbies that my children have chosen up to this point include: playing the flute and saxophone and running on the cross country team. I only begin to raise eyebrows when my children begin to talk about making music a career which seems like quite a long shot to me. Now my youngest daughter says that she will be a ‘rock star’ no matter what. We decided to honor her request for an electric guitar and after an exhaustive search got her a beginner kids guitar for Christmas that she absolutely LOVES!!!
I am happy for my daughter but am hoping and praying that this wish to be a rock star is only a passing phase. I know that I need to be supportive of my children and I guess that if they are TRULY successful and happy in life, then I will support them. My daughter is a good kid and seems to have a good head on her shoulders and momma just needs to STOP WORRYING and let her kid have FUN!!!
Ah the rush of the season, as much as we complain, we really wouldn’t have it any other way! Every year we say that we are going to do things more simply but it just never really happens! My wife and I went ALL OUT! We got MP3 players, laptops, and cool clothing items that our kids will love! One of the most interesting gifts we got was for our six year old son. He has been bugging us for guitar lessons and so after a long search for childrens acoustic guitars, we finally just found a really good quality beginner childrens guitar. We are more than excited to give this super cool guitar to our son who has been jamming on anything he can find at home from tennis racquets to magazines to pots and pans to whatever!
I get to play Santa Claus each year as the kids leave cookies and milk for me. All the effort is worth it as the kids go CRAZY Christmas morning. I know that our son will start jammin right away! My wife says that she has also ordered some beginner guitar lessons on DVD that should arrive tomorrow morning! I love it that my kids help keep my inner child alive and kickin!
As a mom I can honestly say that I am very content. Now that our daughter’s tenth birthday celebration is over we can relax a bit until the holidays begin. Overall we had a really nice Christmas and a peaceful new year! It is always great to get friends and family together. Both my parents and my husband’s parents go crazy over their grandkids and our kids always can’t wait to see them!! In particular, we all really liked watching my daughter go “crazy” over the beginner childrens guitar we gave her for her birthday. To say she loves this gift would be an understatement!
My husband and I really enjoyed looking at various beginner childrens guitars and now know that our research has really paid off. Because our daughter’s birthday is so close to Christmas we needed to shop within our means. After searching for discount kids guitars we were quite impressed with what we saw. She seems to already have learned some chords from her learn to play guitar DVD. She loved all of her other gifts but hands down, the guitar was her very favorate!
Life is pretty good at our house and for the most part we are very blessed!! Money is tight since my wife lost her job in April of this year despite the fact that she did get a severance pay and also receives unemployment. So far she hasn’t had any luck finding another job but we remain hopeful. Our very creative, humorous and fun loving daughter says that she really wants to learn to play guitar and says that if we get her a guitar for her birthday this coming month, she will be so happy that we won’t have to get her anything for Christmas. I said to my wife that she must really want a guitar if she is willing to even forego Christmas gifts!! Of course she knows that come Christmas day we will get her something.
Since our daughter is only nine years old we will not get her an adult sized guitar but will instead begin searching for guitars for kids. I know she will be thrilled beyond measure and as parents we aim to please just as long as our children learn to appreciate what they have and not take it for granted. Our daughter will be pleased to get a beginner childrens guitar as my husband and I have recently discovered that they are not as expensive as we had originally thought. Yes it will be a Very Happy Birthday indeed!
We have been looking for a new innovative gift to get our eight year old son for his birthday that doesn’t necessarily correspond with the ‘digital’ age which sometimes inhibits kids from using their creativity. Our son has said that he wants to learn to play an instrument and has been ‘hinting’ that he’d like to learn how to play guitar. He also loves rock music. My very clever and resourceful wife began researching beginner childrens guitars. She is really ‘in love’ with the idea of getting him one and has at least five beginner guitars picked out that she’s sure our son will be ‘over the moon’ about!
Upon further investigation my wife and I actually both agree on the same beginner childrens guitar that we feel is the best deal for the very best price! My wife and I are SO excited that WE can hardly wait for our son’s birthday so much so that we may even go out and purchase amateur guitars for ourselves! Ahh to be young again!!!
As we celebrate our nation’s birthday, we also celebrate the birthday of out eleven year old son. He loves the fact that he is born on the fourth of July and this year is no exception. As we celebrate his birthday before going to see fireworks on our community, we will have a birthday party complete with picnic food, (which he loves!) and chocolate cake with peanut butter icing! What could be better!
What he told us he really wanted for his birthday this year was a kids guitar. I am not surprised as several of his buddies have recently gotten kids electric guitars from their parents and seem to really love them! My wife and I did a lot of research and we found a beginner childrens guitar that we think is well suited for him and we can’t wait to give it to him tomorrow! I think it will be another special Independence Day/Birthday! Happy birthday America!
As a parent you are happy if your children are born healthy with all their fingers and toes let alone be able be able to make it in the world. You do the very best job you can and just hope for the best! I remind myself daily that while I may not be the “perfect” parent I do the very best I can and really try to learn from my mistakes as best I can. With four children I feel that I get better. Wiser and more adaptable as the years roll on. With a son heading off to college next year, a daughter about to complete her freshman year in high school, another son finishing his first year in middle school and a daughter excited to begin fourth grade next year we get to experience different parts of childhood and adolescence all at the same time!
Our baby girl will turn ten this summer and she is SO excited because we are allowing her to have a slumber party this year! Weather permitting we will also have a pool party. Our daughter has also informed us that she really wants a childrens acoustic guitar for her big birthday! My husband has really jumped on this idea and believes that he has already found a beginner childrens guitar that will be the perfect fit for our little musician! Heck maybe we will even give her this cute little amateur guitar early so she can show it off to her friends at the slumber party and even play a little ditty for them! All in all I think that his will be a gift the whole family will enjoy!
I have lived a good life. I married young and have a good wife that has stood by me all these years. We have three children, a son and two daughters. Our son and older daughter now have children of their own. Music has always been a big part of our family with all of my children playing musical instruments throughout their lives. Out son still plays guitar at our church and at bars and coffee houses. Now his nine year old son has developed that “itch” to learn to play guitar too. So my son and I are thinking of getting him an early birthday present and have begun looking for beginner childrens guitars!
Boy have times changed. There is so much more to choose from. Now there are guitars for children that are specified for a child’s particular needs. I know we will find the perfect beginner childrens guitar that my grandson will love! I am so glad that our family’s tradition of loving and playing music continues! After all, the family that plays together stays together!
