That Special Father/Daughter Bond

My daughter has always loved Faith Hill.  She has been listening to her music for years and wishes she could look like Faith Hill.  More than anything in the world, my daughter wants a beginner acoustic guitar.  As a single Dad I want to get my kids everything but expenses are tight since I was laid off from my job last year.   My daughter has a birthday in a couple weeks and I have begun an online search for discount kids guitars in hopes of finding a guitar of good quality but yet affordable.

I love being a father and I feel like I have a special bond with my daughter.  When I was her age I too played drums and guitar.  I played in a band throughout high school and college and remember those days quite fondly!  I look forward to seeing where my daughter will go with her guitar playing.  She also has a good voice and has been singing for years like Faith, her idol.  As I look into the future it looks quite bright!

Keeping My Father in Law’s Memory Alive!

We have a good life for the most part and we don’t want for much.  Life was tough last year when our kids lost their grandfather, my father in law.  He has been such a wonderful influence in their lives and in the lives of many others.  He was a wonderful musician his whole life.  He sang played piano, guitar and performed in a singing troupe..  Our middle son was particularly close to his grandfather.  Our son’s one and only request for Christmas this year is a beginner acoustic guitar. My husband and I were more than happy to oblige!

My husband wasn’t aware that acoustic guitars for children were so readily available.  We really did have a good time together looking at childrens acoustic guitars.  I am glad my son wants to play guitar and wants to emulate his grandfather who was a well respected and wonderful human being.  I look forward to what the new year will bring!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

Spreading The Joy Of Music!!

I have tried to be the best parent I can be, not perfect but I guess good enough. I have watched my older son learn to play the drums in elementary school and now as part of a band with four of his friends.  He has recently begun a career as veterinary technician but drums will always be his first love.  Now my youngest daughter seems to also want to pursue music as a hobby and who knows what that could develop into.  She wants to play guitar so my wife and I have begun looking at acoustic guitars for kids

We want to get her some acoustic guitar lessons taught by a qualified professional.  We hope that learning to play the beginner acoustic guitar will offer her not only a wonderful hobby but also teach her discipline, patience and self respect.  Christmas is coming up and I think she will be one happy little girl on Christmas morning! We are very happy to explore the gift of music further with a childrens acoustic guitar!

Learning To Play Acoustic Guitar Together!!

My son told me that in music class at school his teacher has encouraged the class to learn to play an instrument because learning an instrument has many benefits and is also very fun!  He is very excited because his friend, Kenny who wants to play acoustic guitar and my son thinks it would be so very cool if he and his friend could learn to play guitar together!  I must admit that I have been thinking that it would be a good idea to have my son learn to play an instrument, be it guitar or drums or whatever!.  So I guess I’m game.

I called Kenny’s mother and she said that she found a beginner acoustic guitar that seemed to be well suited for kids their age.  Karla’s mother pointed me to some websites and I am happy to see that kids guitars aren’t as expensive as I thought they would be.  Until I began this research I wasn’t even aware that they made acoustic guitars for children.  I’m so glad that my son and Kenny can learn to play such a wonderful instrument together!

I am a so glad that my son wants to pursue his interest of playing guitar.  I have loved music and have played electric/acoustic guitar for years and I know all the joy it has brought me.  He gets so excited when I bring out the guitar and I decided that this Christmas I will get him a beginner acoustic guitar.  I will begin my search tomorrow for kids acoustic guitars.  I know my son will be absolutely ‘over the moon’ and it will hopefully be an incredible bonding experience for both of us!!

My son has been dropping hints that we could tour the world playing together!  Even though I know it won’t happen I think it’s a really cool idea.  I would love to play teacher, but I will find a competent instructor to teach him proper technique.  Now if he would just show this much enthusiasm for other things, like cleaning her room, we’d really be in business!

Daddy’s Little Girl!!!!!!

My daughter and I have always been close.  Even though she is only seven years old, I think she is rather intuitive for her age.  She has grown up listening to me play guitar and it has always been a special bonding time for us, she loves to see me play.  I have actually watched her pick up a tennis racquet and pretend to pluck and strum the strings only to stub her thumb (which resulted in some tears and some cries of “awwww!” but the incident still didn’t deter her).  So I said to my wife that we needed to honor her passion and get her a beginner acoustic guitar for her eighth birthday.

I am having a lot of fun looking and searching for childrens guitars.  My wife has been looking as well and we will soon compare notes and come up with a childrens guitar that is of good quality, affordable and irresistible to our young budding musician!   I might even be more excited as my daughter!

For The Love Of Music!!

All my kids seem to love music in some capacity.  My son plays bass guitar and sings backup in a local band with a few of his buddies.  We want to encourage him to continue with the band after high school as long as he keeps up with his studies while keeping the rest of his life in perspective.  Our daughter sings in the choir and now absolutely LOVES the fact that she is beginning to sing solos!!  Now our little six year old daughter says she wants to play guitar.  My husband thinks it would be good to start our daughter on a beginner acoustic guitar.

So now we begin the search for childrens acoustic guitars.  We do have a little time to look because our daughter’s birthday isn’t until November 20th.  I think she will be quite pleased.  I know she loves music just as much as anyone else in the family!!  She will join the Children’s Choir at church next year and now she can add guitar to her repertoire.   She will also be so excited to “jam’ with her older brother who she very much looks up to.

I am a so glad that my son has decided to pursue his interest of playing guitar.  I have loved music and have played electric/acoustic guitar for years and I know the joy it has brought me throughout my life.  He loves it when I bring out the guitar and start to play. I decided that for his birthday I would get him a beginner acoustic guitar.  An exhaustive search for acoustic guitars for kids brought forth a rather nice selection from which I found the ‘perfect’ guitar for my son!  He had no idea that I had taken a chance and purchased this for his birthday!  The day of his birthday arrived and I saw true joy on my son’s face that I haven’t seen often enough throughout his life!!

I look forward to the day that my son and I will have to actually “jam” together.  Even though I would like to play teacher, I will find a competent instructor to teach him proper technique, (probably my friend’s oldest son who gives lessons and has been playing guitar for years). I see this as a great bonding experience for both of us that will hopefully bring us closer for years to come!

Becoming A Teenager!

My son has a big birthday coming up, he will be thirteen.  He thinks that this is a big deal as he will now be a teenager.  He was born in the year 1997, the year my father passed away which my son and I feel make him special because we believe my son is a gift from my father!!.  To commemorate this most special occasion, (i.e. becoming a teenager) he would like to acquire an acoustic guitar!  Ok!  Despite the fact that it’s been a rough year financially due to my wife being laid off, my wife and I believe that we will be able to get a beginner acoustic guitar for him!  My friends have assured me that good quality cheap acoustic guitars are available!  After searching the internet last night, I believe that they are in fact correct!

My son is hoping for a bigger birthday this year because he is now a teenager and only three years from being able to drive a car as he keeps reminding us!!  Look out!!  I do feel good that we are able to get a very quality and affordable cool guitar for our son.  Yes I think we will have a very happy teenager very soon!

What Will Be On Santa’s Sleigh This Year?

I said to my nine year old son “what do you want for Christmas this year?”  I expected him to say something like Xbox, Webkinz, an MP3 player, but no he said he wanted a beginner acoustic guitar!  I thought “ Wow! I really wasn’t expecting that!”   My husband and I have always loved acoustic and classical guitar music and so I guess this isn’t a really out of the norm for us.  So if our son decides to follow this interest then this could be something that the whole family can share together!

So now my husband and I are going to begin a search for acoustic guitars for kids!  I think my husband and I will have fun searching for kids acoustic guitars and  can’t wait for Santa to give this special gift and put a big smile on our son’s face. Finally, I think we will look  at guitar cases for children  so our son can feel like a real professional with his acoustic guitar!
