My very dear son will turn fifteen in October and I want to get him what he wants the very most, a beginner electric guitar! He has shown some musical ability from an early age and we supported him when he wanted to play the drums at the age of seven. We bought him a kids drum set and he literally beat the thing to death!! Now I want to support his love of guitar and begin looking at amateur guitars.
Instead of surprising my son, I will take him with me to pick out the amateur guitar he really wants! He is looking forward to this and it may take several outings to find the beginner guitar that we want the most. My goal is to help my kids find their passion because life is hard enough but the journey is made easier if you can do things you genuinely enjoy along the way!
We have been looking for a new innovative gift to get our eight year old son for his birthday that doesn’t necessarily correspond with the ‘digital’ age which sometimes inhibits kids from using their creativity. Our son has said that he wants to learn to play an instrument and has been ‘hinting’ that he’d like to learn how to play guitar. He also loves rock music. My very clever and resourceful wife began researching beginner childrens guitars. She is really ‘in love’ with the idea of getting him one and has at least five beginner guitars picked out that she’s sure our son will be ‘over the moon’ about!
Upon further investigation my wife and I actually both agree on the same beginner childrens guitar that we feel is the best deal for the very best price! My wife and I are SO excited that WE can hardly wait for our son’s birthday so much so that we may even go out and purchase amateur guitars for ourselves! Ahh to be young again!!!
I love my niece more than anything in the world. She is really like a daughter to me. We are very close and since I live so close by, we spend a lot of time together. Her mother, (my sister- in-law) has been very sick with multiple sclerosis and so I do what I can to help out as my brother is on the road quite a bit driving truck. My only son is all grown up and out of the house, so you could say that I’m an empty nester. Since my niece will soon face her teenage years I feel that I want to be there for her more than ever!
My niece has been in love with the electric guitar since very young as she watched he daddy play it when she was a little girl. She has been saying for quite a few years now that she wants to learn to play guitar! I decided to take the ‘bull by the horns’ myself and begin looking at beginner electric guitars for my niece. She will be eleven in 2 months and it would mean the world to her to start taking lessons soon! I have been able to find some very affordable amateur guitars in excellent condition and I am really excited about this! We are a close family who support each other and it’s nice to know that we all want the best for one another other!
Some people choose to never develop a deep understanding of the acoustic guitar. That doesn’t mean that a person can’t have fun by just being an amateur guitar player by learning a few chords and practicing the technique of strumming. Fortunately, there are several styles of amateur guitars that a beginner player has to choose from. There are also a variety of guitar styles that come under the heading of “acoustic guitar”. There is Celtic guitar music that grew out of the folk guitar boom in the nineteen sixties. So, as well as folk music, there is the classical guitar which is classical music played on the guitar. Then there is Flamenco, the traditional music of the Gypsies of Spain, and the Bossa Nova music of twentieth century Brazil. There are lots of free guitar lessons on the internet and all basic lessons apply to the acoustic guitar. All acoustic guitar players will learn about chord families, strumming techniques, picking strokes, tuning your guitar and how to change the strings. It is very important to get your guitar playing posture correct. Your posture governs how you look and feel when you are playing.
Even though you want to learn for free, many people who have gone through the experience of teaching themselves say that taking several months of guitar lessons at the beginning is much better than struggling with the basics by yourself. If you are looking for free acoustic guitar lessons on the internet, Google is the place to start. Just do a search for free guitar lessons, or free guitar lessons with the name of your favorite music inserted somewhere. Google books has all the good books on learning acoustic guitar, and many of them have extensive previews. Your next stop should be Google video or YouTube for free video guitar lessons. As you go through the free acoustic guitar lessons on the internet, please remember to keep it simple. It can be tempting to get distracted by some interesting guitar lesson video that is outside your main area of interest, but as you are still learning, it is best to stick to the basics for now. You’ll be happy you did later.
My grandson has been fascinated with the guitar ever since he was a toddler. He has had dreams of becoming a rock star all of his life and I hope for his sake this comes true but I try to give doses of reality that this may not be easy to achieve and he better have a backup plan just in case. He seems to like fixing things like cars and he is quite good at this so I am glad that he does have some skills. Now that he is older he wants a new guitar because he and his friends are becoming more successful as a band and are getting more gigs. His current electric guitar is on the”frits” and he needs a new guitar.
My son and I are looking at amateur guitars for my grandson. We want to get him a good quality guitar but money is a real concern as we are on a tight budget. My son went online last night to look for discount electric guitars and we are pleased that we have a pretty good selection from which to choose. I look forward to what the future holds and I hope my grandchildren can fulfill their dreams! I guess time will tell!
My very dear mom wants to get my son what he wants the very most for his fifteenth birthday and she is willing to split the cost with my husband and I if need be. We told her that what he wants more than anything in the world right now is an electric guitar. We told her that we have been pricing amateur guitars. She told us that she would be willing to support us financially in this venture in any way that she can even though electric guitars aren’t exactly her cup of tea!
My mom is a bit of a character but she has such a good heart and would give you the shirt off her back. In her eyes any instrument not suited to be played in a church service is not worth having. I believe her own words were, “I’m not sure what purpose those crazy guitars serve but I love my grandson and I want him to be happy”. Despite her narrow minded thinking, her love for us and wish to see us happy overrides any opinions she may have and I am very grateful for that!
When our son was little we got his a toy guitar that he just played to death. We thought it was a passing phase and were delighted to see him play so much! His interest in guitar has not waned and not he is asking his Mom and Dad to get him a beginner electric guitar so he can learn to play correctly. Our son as it turns out, sees a future in guitar and may even become a full time musician! I will support him but I will be most supportive of a well rounded son, one who doesn’t neglect his studies and who is involved in other outside activities!
Our son does pretty well in school and has a nice group of friends. He is a good kid and my husband and I are in support of his interests. With a birthday coming up in June we will begin to look together for beginner electric guitars. We will also look for an instructor and some good beginner DVD’s and books for our son. Our son says that he knows of some relatively inexpensive but high quality amateur guitars for us to check out. I’m glad that this is a project we can work on together!
I don’t know what I’d do without Aunt Lucy. She is more than an aunt and is actually more like a second grandmother! When it comes to birthdays, she always comes through. She has the financial resources and that’s a good thing but I also don’t want her to spoil the kids too much. One year she bought my daughter a new laptop she wanted that I told her she had to wait to get for her birthday. While my daughter was very happy about this it wasn’t an absolute necessity.
My teenage son has a birthday on May 19th and more than anything wants a beginner electric guitar. I don’t have the money for this right now as much as I love music and am a musician myself, (I’ve played piano and been a church organist for years) Aunt Lucy is excited and says that she is more than happy to search for some crazy guitars! While Aunt Lucy is quite ambitious, she is not savvy with the internet so I will surf the net to look for amateur guitars. I guess my kids are quite blessed to have so many caring adults in their lives!
As a guitarist at any level one needs to continue to work on their strumming techniques. One key way to improve your strumming is to visualize the rhythm of the playing pattern before you begin. Some people find it helpful to say the rhythm of the pattern out loud. Another good tip is to make sure you don’t pause in between the strumming patterns. Pausing will cause you to lose your place, and can cause some serious rhythm problems and confusion. Practice the exercise alone, and as slowly as possible. You can build your speed up as you get used to the rhythm and the pattern. Your eventual goal should be the strumming pattern down and to play without any pauses.
One tip to improve your strumming, is to improve your posture! Good position is integral to getting the most out of your guitar. Bad posture can not only limit your guitar playing improvement, but you can put yourself in greater risk for straining muscles! Constant bad playing posture can even cause or worsen back pain. It’s best to sit straight up, and cradle the guitar with your legs. Armless chairs are ideal for this sort of playing. As a beginner, it can be a bit boring and tedious when you’re learning. However all great guitar players have to start somewhere, and you might find you learn faster than you think, once you get the basics down you’re well on your way to the good stuff! It’s important to remember that guitar playing, like anything worth doing in life, takes time and above all – patience! One can begin the journey with an amateur guitar and there are many amateur guitars that are affordable and available, so the journey begins with you!
In the past if you wanted to learn how to play the guitar, you either had to teach yourself utilizing a variety of printed manuals or schedule an appointment with a guitar instructor. Many people often have a hard time being able to successfully schedule lessons with a guitar instructor, or be able to afford the ongoing tuition fees. Today, online guitar lessons have become the preferable option for a lot of people who simply don’t have the time or money for a one-on-one guitar teacher as well as for those who are simply not able to learn just by using a guitar instruction book. You can replay certain lessons over and over again until you have mastered the skills that are being taught.
Learning to play guitar online or through the use of a DVD can be a great way to learn to play amateur guitar. There are a lot of different types of amateur guitars that are available to enhance the learning process which are affordable and of good quality. More and more people seem to be choosing to learn to play guitar online. Learning online and/or with a DVD can prove incredibly useful for busy people who sometimes cannot do as much guitar practicing as they would like and who need to review and refresh material before moving on. In short, online guitar lessons have revolutionized the way beginner guitar lessons are taught
