It seems as though every time I turn around we have another guitar player in the family. My husband, my father –in-law, my brother all have been bitten by the bug. There’s no escape! Now my ten year old son wants to get into the act. My first response was, “We don’t need any more crazy guitars in this family!” You have to understand that I truly say this in jest! I love my family to death and we are all very close it’s just at times I feel competitive with the guitar for their attention!
I met my husband as a teenager and at that time he was the lead singer along with my brother as the bass guitar player in a very popular band in our town. I thought he was next to God and I was never so happy when we first began dating. After we got married the band started to fizzle out but he continued to play here and there with my brother and his father at local events, coffee houses, churches, etc. They still play today and I do love to see their joy! (as long as they don’t forget about us!!)We are happy to purchase an amateur guitar for our son and hope that he will get as much joy out of it as his father, uncle and grandfather seem to. Time will tell!
