Kid Guitars

My son is looking forward to his fifth birthday.  I really enjoy the opportunity I have as a father to live vicariously through him.  I long for the days when I looked forward to my birthday.  He views his birthday like Christmas and has a whole list for his mom and dad of birthday wishes much like his list for Santa Claus.  At the very top of the list is the drums!  It appeared at Christmas and we didn’t get it then so our son says that now we have a “second chance”.  As a musician myself I know how wonderful it can be but as a career it can be quite impractical too.  But my God he’s five,” let him have fun” my wife says and “who knows if he will become a musician.  He’s too young!”   She is always the voice of reason and couldn’t be more right!

So my wife and I have begun our search for childrens drum sets with gusto!  It is fun and the more time we spend looking the more the idea grows on me.  My son is the “apple of my eye” and I may even be able to teach him a trick or two.  There are some good quality kids drum sets out there and after some more thought I think this will be a lot of fun but I can’t help it sometimes if I’m just a little overprotective!
