Having Fun Within Our Means

My wife told me that we must get our adorable little son a childrens electric guitar for Christmas!  Her best friend just got her son one and my wife said that it was SO cute and we just HAD to get our son one!   I must admit that I am really just a “big kid” myself and I really did have a ball searching for kids guitars online.  Our older son has been playing acoustic guitar for awhile and has recently formed a trio with two of his friends and they are hoping to start performing in coffee houses this coming spring.

We have a lot of fun in our family and for that we are truly blessed.  However someone has to be mindful of the finances because come January some major bills have to be paid.  I must admit however that on Christmas morning our son will be thrilled beyond belief when he sees the cool guitar Santa brought him!

My daughter has been a musical enthusiast ever since the day she was born.  She would bang on the side of her crib in a succinct rhythm as a toddler and then as she got older she would tap the table and make an attempt to strum a book or a magazine.  Now at the age of five, we are so excited to have purchased a beginner kids guitar for our aspiring little rocker!  My husband was all for it!  We really had a ball looking at all the kids electric guitars available online!

Christmas is less than a week away and we are the most excited of all the gifts we’ve bought to give the guitar to our daughter!   We want to support her interests and I don’t know if being a musician is in her future but we do know that we will have a lot of fun along the way!

Consider Learning to play Guitar for your Child

Music has been a popular means of expression for many generations. If a child expresses the desire to learn to play an instrument then it is a good idea to encourage them whenever possible.  With the guitar being one of the most popular instruments in the world today, it is wise to consider giving your child the opportunity to learn to play guitar, Parent today can choose between kids electric guitars and kids acoustic guitars for their children.

There are some really good multimedia courses offered now for guitar lessons which because of their professionalism and pedigree can deliver what they say they will. These courses can and will keep students both young and not so young invested and learning good technique.  Because of the variety and the depth of content, a real learning experience with the guitar can be acquired for kids of all ages.

For the Love of Guitar!

My niece has spent many weekends with me for many years!  My brother is a single parent and often works long shifts on weekends.  My boyfriend and I are overjoyed to be a part of my niece’s life. She is such a “happy go lucky” and giving child that we practically consider one of our own.  My brother has played acoustic guitar throughout his life and still plays local gigs where my niece and I are often in the audience cheering him on!  As Christmas is approaching, my boyfriend and I are SO sure what we need to get Gabby this year, a childrens acoustic guitar!

My brother will be delighted because he is such a good father and only wants the best for his “little girl”.  He seems to know a lot about guitars for kids and can point us in the direction of some good places to look.  I would not be surprised if one day my niece joins her uncle and his buddies on stage!  I am very sure that a kids acoustic guitar will give my niece and our family more joy than ever imagined!

For The Love Of Guitar!

Playing acoustic and electric guitar has been an American pastime for many years.  Our family has enjoyed the guitar for several generations and so it is no surprise that our young daughter has requested an acoustic guitar for Christmas.  I am very happy and because she is only six years old we have begun looking at guitars for children online.  I am sure we will not have too much difficulty since we have many contacts in our area who will point us in the direction of some good kids acoustic guitars.  I believe we have something pretty much picked out and we will probably have to special order it in order to have it arrive by Christmas day!

My father played both guitar and banjo while I was a growing up.  Both my brother and I have played guitar throughout our lives and now my nephew plays acoustic and electric guitar in a band.  My brother played lead guitar in a really ‘hot’ band back in the day!  I am happy that my daughter wants to play and I believe that it will inspire me even more to play.  I am very excited for Christmas!

Purchasing Your Child’s First Guitar

When purchasing your child’s very first guitar there are many things to consider.  One of the first things to consider is the need to make sure that the instrument is the correct size for your child. Many models are too big for children and will inhibit their ability to reach the proper tabs and fingerings. For instance there are many electric guitars for kids available today for children of all sizes.

The next thing to consider is price. Since this is your child’s first instrument, it is probably wise to  invest in discount kids guitars so that they have something to experiment with and see if they like.  Just because the price isn’t high doesn’t mean that you have to skimp on quality; there are many excellent models available that don’t carry an excessive price tag.

Bonding While Banging!

Playing the drums has been a great pastime for many generations.  The style and make of drums have changed greatly over the years but the joy of playing them has persisted.  I have enjoyed playing them for years and as an adult I get excited when I see a child also want to learn to play and experience this particular brand of passion.  My adorable little five year old nephew wants to play the drums and I am trying to convince my brother that purchasing a kids drumset would be a great Christmas gift for many reasons, (i.e. the ability to learn a skill and most importantly have fun!)

I have recently noticed how many really cool childrens drum sets are out there.  I can hardly wait!  I would love to teach my nephew and help him get started with some proper technique but more importantly I just want to see him have fun and experience the joy!  Hopefully we will jam together very soon!

Breaking With Tradition!

I want my children to be involved in the hobbies that feel like the best fit for them.  I must admit however that I am very thrilled when they have chosen some type of musical pursuit.  Music has been the icing on the cake for both my wife and I.  I grew up playing classical music on the violin and still play with the orchestra in my town and will sometimes even still perform at weddings and special events.  My wife has played the harp and has performed in more types of venues that I can possibly remember. She doesn’t play much anymore but does teach part-time where she can live vicariously through her students!  Our eldest daughter also plays classical violin and piano.   My middle son has played the drums as well as the trombone in concert band.  My youngest son seems to want to break tradition and be somewhat of a rebel in our family (but only in regards to classical music) and play the electric guitar!

My wife doesn’t seem to know want to make of this but I think we should honor his wish.  He is only five years old and I think this could be a lot of fun! I  have already begun looking at electric guitars for children.  I am also going to purchase DVD’s and books for beginner guitar lessons.  I think this will be fun and since Christmas is only 2 week away we better get a move on.  I am confident however that on Christmas morning my son will have a cool guitar to jam on!

What Will Be On Santa’s Sleigh?

My son wants an electric guitar in the WORST way!  He assures me that Santa has a REALLY big sleigh this year and is sure to have plenty of room for a kids guitar!  What my son may not realize is that we are still in a recession and Santa too may be affected by this, (parts may just be too expensive  this year).  Perhaps this elf better begin looking at some discount kids guitars

My brilliant husband seems to be amused by it all.  So in addition to looking for Ipods, a new Wii and inline skates, it looks like a beginner kids guitar just might make it onto Santa’s sleigh after all!  Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

A Trip Down Memory Lane!

I am a total musical enthusiast.  I have played acoustic guitar, sung in many choirs and even formed a trio at one point with close girlfriends as we plotted becoming Country Western singers.   My middle son is absolutely nuts about the drums and now has his own junior kids drumset that he plays with reckless abandon.  Now our baby girl has shown a real interest in learning to play guitar.  I am thrilled and have already begun to research on discount childrens guitars.  I am THRILLED that my kids have discovered the joy of music!

Now as I witness their enthusiasm I start to feel that passion once again and find myself daydreaming about performing again!   I think it would be great if someday my kids would play together in a band.  With Christmas just around the corner, I think I can find a kids guitar that will put the biggest smile on my daughter’s face Christmas morning!  We promise to keep the noise level at an acceptable level for our neighbors!
