In the past if you wanted to learn how to play the guitar, you either had to teach yourself utilizing a variety of printed manuals or schedule an appointment with a guitar instructor. Many people often have a hard time being able to successfully schedule lessons with a guitar instructor, or be able to afford the ongoing tuition fees. Today, online guitar lessons have become the preferable option for a lot of people who simply don’t have the time or money for a one-on-one guitar teacher as well as for those who are simply not able to learn just by using a guitar instruction book.  You can replay certain lessons over and over again until you have mastered the skills that are being taught.

Learning to play guitar online or through the use of a DVD can be a great way to learn to play amateur guitar.   There are a lot of different types of amateur guitars that are available to enhance the learning process which are affordable and of good quality.  More and more people seem to be choosing to learn to play guitar online.  Learning online and/or with a DVD  can prove incredibly useful for busy people who sometimes cannot do as much guitar practicing as they would like and who need to review and refresh material before moving on. In short, online guitar lessons have revolutionized the way beginner guitar lessons are taught

Getting Off on the Right Foot

When most parents buy their kids their first instrument, more often than not it is some form of beginner acoustic guitars. This is generally a sound decision, as the acoustic guitar lends itself to a more mellow and subdued sound. An acoustic guitar is also a good starting place for young children, as it works well with classic children’s songs.

As kids get older, they will predictably desire to branch off into the realm of electric guitars. Most parents no longer view rock and roll as hedonistic, but the music is undoubtedly loud and filled with energy. Although you may prefer you kids to stick with the melodious acoustic model, it is important to have an open mind and let their music tastes evolve.

A New Red Guitar!

My daughter says she wants a guitar because she knows she has talent.  She says she wants a red guitar because her room is red and red is her favorite color.  As luck would have it, her birthday is in March and my mother is really excited, loves to dote on her grandchildren and says she will purchase a “red” guitar for her very favorite, (and only) granddaughter.   Because my mother doesn’t do much of her own shopping anymore and does not have access to the internet, we will do the shopping for her.  My husband says there are lots of guitars for kids available and he already has a really cute red one picked out.

I just hope that mom realizes that while this is so very kind of her, we will be the ones that will put up with the inevitable noise.  I love music more than anyone but I do have my limits.  I love my daughter and more importantly I want her to be happy, so if a red childrens electric guitar will make her happy then so be it!
