We are a family of rockers! My husband has been a lead bass guitar player in a band for years. I often sing back up in his band. My elder son has played the drums for years and an expressed an interest in this as a child. We got him a kids drum set when he was eight years old and that was it, he’s been a drummer ever since. Now our younger son is showing signs already that he too wants to be a rocker!, what a surprise! Instead of playing the drums like his brother he says he wants to be a lead guitar like his father. My husband could not be more pleased! He has already begun his search for some good childrens electric guitars and now is having difficulty deciding which one to pick since there are so many good ones!
I can see our family performing together for many years to come and this makes me very happy. Music has been a wonderful conduit for closeness and bonding in our family. A Very Merry Christmas to everyone and may we all strive for Peace on Earth!
I am all for my kids, whatever is their passion is MY passion! As long as their interests are not illegal and our good for the soul, I’m game! My son LOVES golf and we are doing everything we can to support his dream to be a pro! My daughter plays the piano and sings in the choir. Our youngest son LOVES the drums! We bought him a toy drum when he was only 3 years old. He has “beaten the crap’ out of that thing and we need to get him another one. For Christmas my wife and I have been looking for childrens drumsets. We know that this will make our son SO happy on Christmas morning!
My wife and I feel it is time to have our son learn good musical technique so we are also going to get him some learn to play the drums DVD’s. I am ecstatic because Christmas is a special time of the year to honor each family member’s passion, dream and unique personality. Now if someone would just get a new tennis racquet for me we’ll be in business!
I am a total musical enthusiast. I have played guitar, banjo and the drums for many years. My middle son has picked up on my love of drums and now has his own junior kids drumset that he plays with reckless abandon. Now our youngest daughter has shown a real interest in learning to play guitar. I am thrilled and have already begun research on beginner childrens guitars. I am THRILLED that my kids have discovered the joy of music!
As a teen I played in a band and now I still perform every once and a while. I think it would be great if someday my kids would play together in a band. With Christmas just around the corner, I think I can find a kids guitar that will put the biggest smile on my daughter’s face Christmas morning! We promise to keep the noise level at an acceptable level for our neighbors!
The wonderful sound of music has always filled our home. I play the organ for the church choir and my husband plays the bassoon at various functions in our community. My oldest daughter plays the cello in her school’s orchestra. Out youngest son has just informed us that he too wants to play an instrument and just knows that we will be thrilled about this. Never in my wildest dreams did I think he would want to play electric guitar!!!! I was very unsure about this but my husband seems to think that it’s a great idea and it he wants to play so badly then he will receive proper instruction.
My husband has told me that he knows where to find some really good childrens electric guitars. He thinks he can get a really good deal on some cool guitars that our son will really love! I feel however that if he is going to get a kids electric guitar then he is going to learn proper technique (i.e. a good instructor and some learn to play guitar books and DVD’s) As long as we can live with a peaceful noise level in our home then I guess I’m game!
Acoustic Guitar, An American Pastime
Playing acoustic guitar has been an American pastime for many years. Our family has enjoyed the guitar for several generations and so it is no surprise that our son has requested an acoustic guitar for Christmas. I am very happy and because he is only nine years old we will begin looking at childrens acoustic guitars. I am sure we will not have too much difficulty since we have many contacts who will point us in the direction of some good kids acoustic guitars.
My father played the guitar and banjo while I was a kid. Both my brother and I have played guitar throughout our lives and my nephew plays acoustic and electric guitar in a band. I am happy that my son wants to play and I believe that it will inspire me even more to play. I am very excited for Christmas!
My daughter is happiest when she is playing guitar. I know this because hours go by and she simply forgets how long she has been playing. My husband and I have finally learned that letting her play guitar can be used as leverage for her to do homework and complete her chores. She now gets together and plays with some of her friends who are also interested in playing guitar.
We began looking for amateur guitars last Christmas and found a perfect one for our daughter. We have been glad overall for this purchase and are pleased not only with the quality of this beginner guitar but also how affordable it has been. We also found some really good learn to play guitar instructional DVD’s that helped teach our daughter the basics. I must say that of all the gifts we have given our daughter, she definitely loves the guitar the very most!
My son has been dealing with some depression and has been isolating from his peers which has his mother and I concerned. We finally found a very competent therapist who our son seems to like and trust. Last week we had a family session and the therapist informed us of how interested in music our son is. I must admit that we probably always knew this on some level. The therapist feels that if our son could pursue some type of musical hobby it could really help with the depression. After speaking with our son further we discovered that he would love to learn how to play guitar!
My wife and I both are very much in support of him pursuing this interest. Tomorrow I will begin searching for beginner childrens guitars. I think this will be a lot of fun for the whole family. We will let our son choose which beginner childrens guitar he would like. We also hope to get some beginner guitar lessons for him so he can really learn proper technique. I will do whatever it takes to help my son feel the inner joy we all know he possesses.
What do you do when your kid is convinced that she is the next Hannah Montana? Do you give her a dose of reality or do you just go along with it? My husband says that this is just a phase and it will pass so don’t take it too seriously. In fact he came home from work last night and told me that he had been searching for some childrens electric guitars online. He thinks that this is the perfect gift for our daughter and that she will have SO MUCH FUN with this gift!
How can I be a party pooper? If a kids electric guitar will make her happy then why not? Since we are getting her a childrens electric guitar we might as well get her some learn to play guitar songbooks as well. Our daughter is after all a well rounded kid who will more than likely not get too carried away. As long as she keeps up with her school work I am fine!
My son says that his favorite Christmas special is the Drummer Boy and he now knows what he most wants for Christmas. If you guessed a drum, you are SO right! My wife says that it would be really cute to get a kids drumset so we will begin our search for childrens drumsets. We will need to find a good one soon so that it will arrive in time for Christmas!
Christmas is the best time of the year for me and we all have so much fun! We are getting a new bike for my older son so we can hopefully take a biking trip with the whole family! Music has been a popular means of expression from young to old for many years.
