As a practical mom I want my kids to pick hobbies and interests that will serve them well later in life. I love that they have chosen musical hobbies like playing flute and trombone. I only feel concerned when they talk about making music a career which seems like quite a long shot to me. Now my youngest daughter says that she WILL be the next Hannah Montana no matter what. We have decided to honor her request for an electric guitar and after an exhaustive search for beginner childrens guitars we finally found a really cute kids guitar that she will be more thrilled than ever to get on Christmas day!
I am happy for my daughter but am hoping and praying that this wish to be a rock star is only a passing phase. I know that I need to be supportive of my children and I guess that if they are TRULY successful and happy in life, then I will support them. I know somebody is going to be very happy Christmas morning!
I love Christmas and I am especially happy that this year I think that we will have a white Christmas. I really can’t wait until Christmas morning when my eight year old son sees the kids drumset that Santa has brought him. My wife and I had a lot of fun looking at all the really cool childrens drumsets that are available today. I have to admit that I am partial to the drums as I have enjoyed playing them for most of my life.
Last year we got a childrens acoustic guitar for our daughter and it has been a match made in heaven ever since. I think our daughter will be a good influence as far as the need to practice and apply the same discipline in other areas of life, like school work. I must admit that I am a little jealous as I wish that someone would get me a new drumset for Christmas! I do however enjoy living vicariously through my children.
You can get sucked into learning to play the guitar in all the wrong ways. The best way to learn guitar quickly is to ensure that your lessons are taking you where you want and give you enough tuition to last you a long time. Here are two ideas to keep in mind when learning to play guitar:
Guitar Chords For Beginners: Even if you already know most of the basic guitar chords, going back to basics is bound to highlight something new that would have been useful to know first time around. This is especially helpful for children who will likely begin learning on a beginner kids guitar and need to acquire a good skill set from the start.
Standard Guitar Tuition: Learning the basics on guitar may make you think it’s going to be boring. The tuition that’s available these days is interactive and keeps you more involved that the music theory books of decades ago ever could. If you’ve not already had a look at online lessons, you should try this and see how it increases your learning rate. There are many amateur guitars available on line that are affordable and of good quality. Learning to play guitar can be quite affordable and fun!
Last year my 7 year old son came home from school after attending music class saying he HAD to get some drums because he wants to grow up and be a rock star! I thought this was quite humorous and went right along with it. My wife and I purchased a childrens drumset and we have never looked back. Our son loves to “bang on the drums all day!” This has sometimes not gone over to well with my wife who requires an understandable amount of peace and quiet!
My darling daughter just 6 years old says she wants an electric guitar for Christmas. I said to my wife, “Here we go again!” However since the drums have gone over so well with our son, why not get a childrens electric guitar? Who knows maybe our children will form their own little band. I am doing a search for beginner childrens guitars right now and know that I have to act quickly as Christmas is next week! I think this is a lot of fun. Maybe we’ll have to build a sound proof studio so my wife can definitely keep her sanity!
I want my children to be involved in the hobbies that feel like the best fit for them. I must admit however that I am very thrilled when they have chosen some type of musical pursuit. Music has been the icing on the cake for all of my life. I grew up playing classical music on the violin and sang in choir my whole life. My wife has played the harp and has performed in more types of venues that I can possibly remember. Our eldest daughter also plays classical violin and piano. My middle son has played the drums as well as the trombone. My youngest son seems to want to break tradition, (but only in regards to classical music) and play the electric guitar!
My wife doesn’t seem to know want to make of this but I think we should honor his wish. He is only seven years old but I have already begun the search for childrens electric guitars. I am also going to purchase DVD’s and books for beginner guitar lessons. I think this will be fun and since Christmas is practically next week we better get a move on. I am confident however that come Christmas morning my son will have a cool guitar to jam on!
The world may never agree as to the precise moment when the electric guitar became the coolest instrument of all. Was it the mid-1950s, when Chuck Berry cranked out the infamous lines to “Johnny B. Goode”? Others might point to Bob Dylan’s decision to plug in for a rousing performance of “Maggie’s Farm” at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. In any case, generations of guitar gods have been defined by their ability to wield the electric ax.
Few of those rock stars would readily admit it, but it’s rather easy to learn how to play guitar. In the past, aspiring guitarists had to seek out a mentor or a paid instructor to sit down with them and start from scratch. But now, in the age of computers and instant Internet access, software programs do much more to aid wannabe rockers. These programs feature tutorial videos and can be used at each novice’s preferred pace.
“Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”,” Frosty the Snowman”, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, My young son has been watching all the Christmas specials this year. After watching the “Little Drummer boy” he informed me that he wants to play the drums and would like a drum for Christmas. My husband thinks this is just great and says that instead of looking for just a toy drum, he feels we should look at childrens drumsets as a kids drumset would be the “perfect” gift!
I think it is a great idea as long as it is not too costly. We need to hurry as Christmas is only 8 days away! I just wonder what he’ll want next year, maybe a kids electric guitar? As long as my child is happy I guess that is what is most important! Merry Christmas everyone!
I have been a supportive parent and have watched my older son learn to play the drums in high school band and now as part of a band with three of his friends. He is starting a career in the banking business but drums will always be his first love. Now my very youngest daughter seems to also want to pursue music as a hobby and maybe one day a career. She wants to play guitar so my wife and I have begun looking at childrens acoustic guitars.
We want to get her some acoustic guitar lessons taught by a professional. We hope that learning to play the beginner acoustic guitar will offer her not only a wonderful hobby but also teach her discipline, patience and self respect. She has a birthday and January and I think she will be very happy for the gift of music with a childrens acoustic guitar!
Both my husband and my son have played the guitar for years. My husband has played acoustic guitar, banjo and the mandolin and my son is a true rocker with his bass guitar. My younger sister says her youngest son wants a guitar for Christmas. My sister said that she wasn’t sure she was going to honor this request because she didn’t know how serious he really is about the guitar until yesterday when he informed her that if he didn’t get a guitar for Christmas he would save all of his allowance money to get one! I told my sister that amateur guitars are more affordable than she thinks.
I think my baby sister will follow my advice and get a good beginner guitar for her son. She needs to get one very soon as Christmas is next week! I know my nephew will want to come to our house Christmas day and “jam” with his cousin and his uncle! I love my sister and I know she will be happy with this purchase!
My “little angel” now age 17 has been the light of my life for many years now. We have watched her go through many transitions which have included various boyfriends, alternative hobbies and activities ranging from tennis to cheerleading, and different hairstyles, (I must admit that I was NOT a fan of the “teased” hair look). One interest that has never wavered in my daughter’s life is her LOVE of the guitar!
We knew when she was a baby that she loved music and so we decided to take a chance and search for beginner childrens guitars. She started playing on a beginner acoustic guitar and now has quite a range of acoustic guitars as well as the mandolin. We have NEVER ONCE regretted the decision to buy her a beginner childrens guitar! Our bright and musically gifted daughter now plays guitar in a band along with several of her girlfriends and they are beginning to take their act on the road! They have recorded several CD’s and have become local heroes in our community! My daughter does plan to go to college but playing guitar will always be her first love!
