rockband songbookFor Christmas this year, I was at a loss as to what to get for my little brother. He is one of those kids who goes out and buys himself everything that he wants, and any present that you get him is sure to be a disappointment. The last time I visited him, however, I noticed that he had a mild obsession with the videogame Rockband.

While his actual guitar is gathering dust in his room, the buttons to his video game model are nearly worn out. In order to inspire him to pick up the real instrument once again, I purchased him the Rockband songbook. Hopefully having the same songs from the game at his disposal will serve as motivation to pick up his real guitar again.

shit 111 amateur guitarsChristmas is my favorite time of year mostly because I get to live vicariously through my children who LOVE Christmas with a passion.  This year was no exception.  We bought a kids drumset for our six year old son after he literally “beat the crap” out of the toy drum we bought him last year.  He couldn’t be happier and I guess we can tolerate the noise for now.

Our older son begged us all year for an electric guitar.  We finally relented and bought him a  high quality beginner electric guitar!  Ecstatic isn’t even strong enough of a word to describe how he feels having finally received this very prized possession.   I am glad that my wife and I did a very lengthy search for amateur guitars because we found one so perfectly suited to him!  Now our house is really “rockin and rollin”!  I guess we can tolerate the noise for now but come January it’s back to the grind stone!  Happy New Year everyone!
