Learning to play the guitar is no easy feat and my daughter wants to undertake this venture in the worst way. I think I’ll begin shopping for the perfect guitar. My daughter Sonia is nine years old and after speaking with several knowledgeable friends of mine they feel that a kids acoustic guitar would be a perfect fit.
After looking at several music stores as well as online, I think I have some great leads on some really good beginner acoustic guitars. I have some good references for guitar instructors. I have also bought Sonia books and DVD’s about learning to play the guitar. I aim to please and I want to help make this kid’s dream come true!
As a musician for many years I LOVE being able to share my interest with all my nieces and nephews. Through the years they have even accompanied me on gigs. I have always loved to sing. I also play the acoustic and electric guitar as well as the mandolin. It has been great to have family come and see me their support means more to me than they will ever know.
I am trying to “encourage” my nephew Billy who I believe is a “budding” musician with a bright future ahead of him. He is a drummer at heart and this is very apparent to me. Christmas is coming and I HAVE to get him a kids drum set! I have some great contacts and wonderful friends who will guide me in the right direction to find some good quality kids drum sets. So my fantasy is to have at least Billy join me on stage!
What do you do with a very limited budget and a kid who swears that the thing he wants most for Christmas is an acoustic guitar! At first I said, “no way, No Way, NO WAY!” But then I really began to explore and much to my utter surprise there are some very affordable acoustic guitars for kids online! I just want to say to parents that there are some great websites for discount childrens guitars out there!
Santa will be good this year and now I just hope that I can find some discount “puppies for my daughter Ellie! Maybe one of my kids will get me a “discount” new house!
Every year my husband and I try and come up with a “special” Christmas gift for each and every one of our children. We like to have at least one gift that when opened garners a genuine “thank you so much!” facial expression. We are getting our daughter Becky a series of horseback riding lessons, our middle son Tom, his own golf clubs, and Brian our youngest a childrens electric guitar! Yes I think Santa will have a lot of “goodies” on his sleigh this year!
I was telling my girlfriend Sally about my ideas and she about fell off her seat when she heard what we are getting for Brian. She says that now she is looking at kids guitars as the perfect gift for her son. I must admit how much fun it was to look at all the guitars for kids that are available . I also bought some learn to play guitar instruction books for Brian. Yes I think it will be a Merry Christmas for all!
Everything is so expensive these days! Just to make ends meet is hard enough let alone having some money left over to have some fun. My boyfriend Zack wants an electric guitar in the worst way! I would love nothing more than to be able to give this special gift to him for Christmas but I am not really sure that it is in my budget either. I have checked in several music stores but nothing looks affordable at the moment.
I just spoke with a friend who told me that she saw some discount electric guitars online that Zack might really like. This is good news because while I will find something to get Zack for Christmas that he will like, a really cool guitar will make him so happy! I am now hopeful that Zack will be able “to rock” like he’s always wanted to!
I am so excited for Christmas this year I can hardly wait! I know that I have found the perfect gift for Alex! He says he loves the drums, he uses just about everything in our house to pretend that he is playing the drums so I made the intelligent choice of buying for him his true love, a kids drum set! Did I do well or what? I mean I found the “deal of the century” online. I am hiding his little treasure at my parent’s house until I Christmas day!
You HAVE to go online and check out all the really cute and very affordable kids drum sets! I believe this will really help channel Alex’s energy in a positive way, teach him discipline and get his creative juices flowing. Now Alex can hang out and “jam” with his friend Nicholas who recently got a kids electric guitar for his birthday! Now if I can just get him to make his bed in the morning!
Over the past few days, we’ve delved into a number of guitar-playing tips and techniques that will help bring out the budding virtuoso in your child. These tactics have been developed over a span of centuries, and most of them are practiced with regularity by masters across the world. But the critical element that can never be taught through rote memorization or training involves creativity.
As a conscientious parent of a young musician, remember to let your child act his or her age on occasion. That might mean practicing rock songs rather than classical or jazz. It might mean noodling, jamming and exploring sonic landscapes that have yet to be described in any music book. This free time will allow the child to gain a clear head and a renewed enthusiasm for the childrens electric guitars.
We are a family of musicians and so it is no surprise that Kelly our baby girl wants to follow in our footsteps. She has watched my husband and I sing and play in a band for many years. Our other two children, ages seventeen and nineteen have on occasion joined us onstage. As Christmas approaches we know what we have to get Kelly, a kids acoustic guitar, what a shocker! I can hardly wait. We have so many contacts in the music world who will point us in the direction of some good quality kids acoustic guitars!
I can see it now, the Jenson Family Performers! We certainly aren’t the Partridge Family but we love to have fun and express ourselves through music! I can hardly wait for the years ahead as we grow together even more as a family!
Christmas is coming. Sometimes I wish I could forget that fact but it is a reality that will soon be mine as well and most people in this world. While I hate to start shopping now, I know I should because once December hits our family becomes so busy with parties and obligations. Cindy, my eight year old has decided that she wants to play the drums like her cousin Eric. Cindy has always idolized Eric and so I guess it’s no surprise that she wants to pursue some of Eric’s hobbies. Well, I guess now I will be looking for some suitable kids drums.
I have begun in recent years to do much of my Christmas shopping online. Because of this it is a good idea to shop early so you can have things shipped in time. So tomorrow I will begin my search of drums for kids tomorrow. My goal is to be done my shopping just before Thanksgiving so I can really enjoy the holiday season!
