When my husband gets excited about something he goes all out and I mean all out! He recently told me that after having a heart to heart talk with our young on regarding what he wants most for his birthday. After a thoughtful but very enthusiastic pause, he replied with a REALLY BIG smile that he wanted an electric guitar! My husband said “cool!” and immediately went to work to find the best and fanciest kids electric guitar in town and online! The ever practical part of me said “Wait a minute buster!” And so I began my search for cheap childrens guitars! Now please don’t misunderstand cheap doesn’t necessarily mean low quality.
After a period of time of going back and forth with my husband we finally found a good quality and very inexpensive childrens electric guitar! I am all for supporting my children as long as we live within our means. My husband and I will probably continue to battle over finances but I am glad that in time we are usually able to work things out! At least in this situation everyone is satisfied!
We haven’t had to work too hard to get our kids interested in hobbies. They have tried all kinds of sports, (from baseball to soccer) and musical instruments (from piano to kids drums). Recently our seven year old daughter came home from school and said that she know what she wants to do with her life, she wants to play electric guitar like her idols, the Jonas Brothers. Oh God! Tell me this is just a phase! My husband thinks this is great and assures me that it’s all in fun. He said that he recently saw a childrens guitar that was heart shaped and thinks our daughter might like something like that!
Our little girl is so enthusiastic and her love of guitar is no different. We will take our daughter shopping soon for some beginner electric guitars! Last night we looked at some childrens electric guitars online and bookmarked some sites that we really liked. Our daughter can hardly contain her excitement! Her birthday is next month and that should be plenty of time to pick the best most affordable beginner electric guitar for our rock star wannabe!
I am so glad that my family is healthy and happy. After that the rest is just icing on “the sweet cake of life”. Life is hard and when good things happen it just really seems like a blessing after all! Last week our daughteer celebrated her thirteenth birthday and never was she so excited then when she came downstairs and saw amateur drums waiting for her in the family room! The look of joy on her face was well worth all the money we spent (which actually wasn’t as much as I had anticipated!)
Now she plays and plays and plays. We are happy about this and for now seem to be tolerating the noise as well as can be expected. Our younger son seems to be getting quite a kick watching his older sister play and now is starting to hint that he wants to play electric guitar. He assures me that we can find some cheap electric guitars online as his friend Billy, (who practically lives at our house) got a really cool kids electric guitar for Christmas. We may have to mull this one over for a little while. Our younger son’s birthday isn’t until June so we do have some time to save money and look around. With five kids one does have to plan. Anyway, we are blessed to keep putting another sweet layer of icing on our cake!
It seems that most boys enjoy banging the drums and get an early start as they pick up objects in their homes and start banging on whatever is around from coffee tables to chairs to anything that is available. So my wife and I now think it is time to get our young son the proper equipment to “bang on”. I have been checking around and I know that there are some pretty cool drums for children available today. Call it an early birthday present, call it whatever you want, but I know are very eager musical son will just love it!
Our son is for the most part enjoying school and I know that he will love being able to bring a kids drumset to class for show and tell and possibly be able to play it in music class. I love seeing my kids happy and finding joy in the fruits of my labor! Soon our house will be filled with the wonderful sound of some banging drums!
I have lived a good life. I married young and have a good wife that has stood by me all these years. We have three children, a son and two daughters. Our son and older daughter now have children of their own. Music has always been a big part of our family with all of my children playing musical instruments throughout their lives. Out son still plays guitar at our church and at bars and coffee houses. Now his nine year old son has developed that “itch” to learn to play guitar too. So my son and I are thinking of getting him an early birthday present and have begun looking for beginner childrens guitars!
Boy have times changed. There is so much more to choose from. Now there are guitars for children that are specified for a child’s particular needs. I know we will find the perfect beginner childrens guitar that my grandson will love! I am so glad that our family’s tradition of loving and playing music continues! After all, the family that plays together stays together!
My girls love life and put their heart and soul into whatever interests them at the moment. My oldest loves pyramids and if it were up to her we’d take a trip to Egypt next week. My middle daughter wants to be an equestrian in the worst way. Now my youngest and very much full of personality says that one day she will grow up to be a country singer like her idols. She know that she has a birthday coming up in the spring and that in order to be like her idols she needs to get an acoustic guitar too! So I guess my enthusiastic husband and I will be looking at acoustic guitars for children. Sounds like fun and I know that because my daughter is so excited, she will really play with gusto!
Today there seem to be so many beginner acoustic guitars for children. A brief search online pulled up a couple of websites that my husband and I have already bookmarked. Even though a child’s interest can be fickle my husband and I feel proud that our children have interests and we don’t have to constantly pull them away from the many electronic devices available to kids today. As parents we very much feel blessed!
You got your first kids drum set for your children but you’re not exactly sure what to do next. Should you encourage them, or just let them develop their appreciation for music on their own? But most children do better with a structure to help guide them along the path of self-expression. If you teach them a little bit, enough to point them the right way, they’ll be able to learn quickly and become a pro at the drums so fast you’ll be amazed. Music is good for the growing young mind. Rhythm, coordination, listening skills, and even math are all enhanced by playing an instrument. Tap out a rhythm to simple songs and melodies, and your child will pick up quickly, first by sheer imitation, then later on by learning the patterns of the sounds. After that, he or she can create his or her own beats to new music using the knowledge you taught.
After that, it’s time to get your little one interested in the downbeat and backbeat, based on a simple four-number repeating loop. Almost every simple song, such as childrens’ music, and even most rock songs and pop ballads follow this four-beat. Tap along to a music: one, two, three, four, and repeat. Associate each number of the beats with a particular drum, cymbal, or even combination of the two. Then let your child practice until the pattern becomes memorized, instinctive, and fluid. For instance, you could try the following: one (cymbal, bass), two (cymbal), three (cymbal, bass, snare), four (cymbal). Once this basic rhythm is mastered and your child has an intuitive grasp of how to handle the various parts of the drum kit at the same time, the real journey in music properly begins. No more random banging noise! Instead, your child will bang out rhythm and make god noise! Childrens drumsets can be lots of fun for the whole family!
We just got done buying our daughter Carrie a new beginner acoustic guitar as I mentioned in an earlier post when our older son mentioned that he had worn out his bass guitar and needed a new one. It seems like we have spent quite a lot of money on him. When he was Carrie’s age we did spend time looking at some really fun electric guitars for children. We started him on a giraffe shaped kids electric guitar at the age of six but my how the times have changed!
Because we just bought Carrie a new childrens acoustic guitar our older son will just have to wait and so will his aspirations of playing in the big time! After all he can still use the guitar he has right now. I think it is important as parents to not reinforce the idea to our children that life will serve their every need on a silver platter. I want to please my kids but there have to be boundaries too. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
Last month we bought our son a kids electric guitar. He couldn’t be happier than a pig in mud! As I mentioned in an earlier post, all of our children love music and do play instruments, our daughter plays the piano and the flute and our older son plays the drums but now says that he too wants to play guitar but not electric guitar. He wants to play acoustic guitar like his buddy Tad. So I guess now we will go guitar shopping yet again.
I think we will look at some discount acoustic guitars as I saw some online and they seem to be quite affordable and very good quality. Our oldest son has been a really good student and will be graduating high school this year. He will be going off to college next year and we want to reward him. He and Tad hope to go to the same local college and play amateur guitar together in a trio with another friend of their’s. I know this will make our son so happy and he will learn to play guitar quickly as he appears to really have some musical ability. This is really very exciting for the whole family!
Right now I feel I am in that sandwich generation because I’m not only taking care of my children but my aging parents as well. I don’t mind because in the end I realize that my parents took such good care of me and I know that one day my children will take care of me. It’s just that at times I feel squeezed between these two slices of bread. My father has been struggling with heart disease and my wife and I have been back and forth to various doctors about his condition. We also have been making preparations for son’s seventh birthday who wants to play drums in the worst way just like his older brother Kenny.
We didn’t have much time to plan for our young son’s birthday but it didn’t take too much time to do a search online to find some really cool kids drumsets. By the next day we found the kids drumset we wanted and two days later it arrived! We are keeping this very special childrens drumset at my office until the big day arrives. I admit that I don’t have much time to myself these days and things often get done at the last minute but the most important thing is that they do get done and that we all love each other! You can’t ask for anything more!
