I have had a REAL love of the guitar since at least the age of five. Life as a musician has not always been easy. It isn’t always easy to make ends meet and at times it means working part-time at various odd jobs here and there. I am divorced from my kids mother and live with my girlfriend who loves my kids and is a great help but also has two kids of her own to support.
I was looking online for a new guitar stand and gig band and was also looking at discount electric guitars on this certain website. While I was looking at this website I saw some kids electric guitars that were really cute and looked like they would be a perfect match for my daughter! Her birthday is not until October but I figure that these are prices I can not beat and I have a kids electric guitar in mine that I think she will just absolutely love! My ten year old daughter has been begging me for guitar lessons anyway. So I can hardly wait for her birthday to get here. What a great father/daughter activity playing together this will be!
It always seems like the cost of living gets worse and worse. Each year we really struggle to make ends meet. We try to save but somehow something comes up and we somehow manage to cut into our emergency fund. With four kids it’s a struggle to make it in today’s times. It seems that every time we turn around there’s another birthday and before we know it it’s time for Christmas! Now that it’s almost September, we face the birthday of our youngest son.
We always have a difficult time with his birthday because it’s getting closer to Christmas and we need to start saving money for Christmas gifts. What our son wants more than anything else in the world this year is a kids electric guitar! We want to get this for him so very badly and are not sure if we will get him this for his birthday or Christmas. Yesterday I did an internet search and I typed in cheap kids guitars. I found some good deals and from what I can gather the guitars look to be of good quality. I’m surprised because I really thought that we were going to have to spend more money! As parents you do the best you can, say a prayer, cross your fingers and hope for the best! I think our son will get his childrens electric guitar for his birthday!
Our son has been diagnosed with a mild form of Autism. We have three other children so it is a quite a responsibility to raise him along with our other children. He requires a lot of care and we have had to reach out quite a bit in our community to get him the necessary services to not only help him function on a day to day basis but to also help him continue to grow and thrive! At the request of one of his teachers we got him enrolled in a music class with some other autistic and special needs children. To our surprise, he loves it more than anything! On the morning of the music classes, he starts clapping and banging his fists on the breakfast table like he’s trying to play the drums. It is SO very heart warming!
We decided that we want to continue to explore his love of music even further at home! Since he really seems to have taken a liking to the drums, we have been looking into getting him a childrens drumset! We are having fun looking at all the childrens drumsets available and are liking the prices and sales even more! Parenting is a challenge but when we can find something that brings our children joy that makes the journey all the more worthwhile!
When describing electric guitars for kids what comes to mind is a “Short scale guitar or a ¾ sized guitar ” but that really isn’t the whole story. Some short scale kids electric guitars are longer than others, so it’s important to look at the specific scale length, and whether that’s right for your child. A three quarter sized scale length for a kids guitar can be anything from a 22.2 inch scale length to a 24 inch scale length. The scale length may vary even more for kids acoustic guitars. Scale length is defined as the distance from the bridge of the guitar to the nut. Therefore a kids electric guitar with a short scale length means that the frets on the guitar are closer together, allowing for small hands to reach across more frets. An advantage of using an electric guitar on a short scale length, is that the strings need a lot less tension to be tuned up to pitch, making it so much easier to press chords and notes.
For a child from the ages of about 6 to 10, a short scale guitar with a 22.2 or 22.7 inch scale length will work very well. Of course the size of the ten year old makes a difference. It is possible that for a 10 year old, a 24 inch scale length will be a good fit. Most kids around the age of 12 years old don’t need to think in terms of kids electric guitars anymore. They can begin to look into adult sized guitars and can consider purchasing a guitar with a 24.75 inch to a 25.5 inch scale. As always, best of luck!
After a lot of thinking my wife and I feel really good about a purchase we finally agreed upon for our son! We bought him several “smaller gifts” for his fifth birthday but wanted to get him something memorable that we knew he would love! Our son loves to pretend to play the drums so the obvious but yet overlooked choice is a childrens drumset! We will present him with it next week and believe he will be more than ecstatic!
We have a party scheduled next week for friends and family and it is always a fun time for everybody. I am sure that the kids drumset will be a not only with our son but also with his cousins and neighborhood friends. I can hardly wait until next week! Still a kid at heart, I plan to exercise my inner child til the day I die!
What do you get a boy for his birthday who taps his fingers on anything he can find around the house? Who uses the dinner table on a regular basis to pound out the beat to his favorite songs instead of finishing his homework? Why you get him some beginner drums and fast because the furniture in the house could really use a break! My wife tells me that because our son hasn’t yet had his growth spurt we should save some money and invest in some second hand childrens drums. I have to admit that she has a point after all we don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that he will outgrow.
I think that he has caught the music bug early as both my wife and I have been musicians playing guitar, mandolin, and fiddle for many years. Our older son plays bass guitar and we started him on a kids electric guitar borrowed from our neighbor! We seem to be drawn to music and our son is no exception. I look forward to what the future holds!
My son is a little ham and being the center of attention seems to be something he relishes. He has been telling my wife and I that he has dreams of being a rock star and has been going around the house playing “air” guitar. While we are not sure we really want this dream to come to fruition we can’t resist the temptation to indulge him just a little bit. I have decided that a kids electric guitar is in order
I think it is so cool that there are so many varieties and styles of electric guitars for children. I have been having a blast looking at what is available online. I found a kids guitar that I have to get and I think my wife is in agreement. Our son has a birthday on September 15th and we will present him with his childrens electric guitar at that time. I can hardly wait!
My husband thinks that my son shows great aptitude to play guitar. Ever since my husband has been giving our son guitar lessons , he really sees great musical ability in our son. My husband has been busy pricing beginner electric guitars. This will come as quite a surprise and a rather special gift for our son’s upcoming fifteenth birthday. Yesterday at work I began a search online for fun. I think I may have found a beginner electric guitar that our son will like that is even more in our price range then what my husband has been able to find.
I tend to be the frugal one in the family and if I can find a good product for a better price I will. If our son wants to learn to play amateur guitar then I’m all for it just as long as we stay in our price range. I’m glad that this has been such a bonding experience between father and son and will more than likely continue to be throughout there lives!
My fourteen year old son has been BEGGING me for the past month to get him a new electric guitar! He says that he simply must have one since he and his friends are putting together a new band! He told me where to find these cool guitars and says that we HAVE to go shopping soon! Of course kids his age don’t factor in cost and that what they consider a NEED to me is really a LUXURY! He will get his cool guitar but maybe not in the exact time frame that he would like!
I am a single parent and do the very best I can but with three sons finances can be a bit tricky, a fact that can often gets lost on my very ambitious children! I guess you can’t expect children to totally understand adult issues. Overall, I have really good kids and that all that matters. As a parent I guess that’s the most you can hope for!
I love it when I see any type of enthusiasm in my children. Finding a passion isn’t always easy for children so when I see that one of my children is excited about something I want to nurture it and really get involved in it as much as I can! My daughter has been expressing an interest for some time now in learning to play acoustic guitar. She is only seven years old so I immediately began researching acoustic guitars for children. I am quite pleased with the selection I have found and plan to give my daughter a really cute childrens acoustic guitar for her eight birthday in September!
Our family has fallen on some hard times recently as my wife was laid off from her job over the winter and my father passed away in May and it is important that we continue to celebrate life in any way we can! As a parent I believe it is my job to help my children to be all they can be and show them that even in the bad times there’s a silver lining in every cloud!
